They are just not at MUC's level.  I give them credit for doing something that other NY teams wouldn't dare to do...

Not many teams are. It is almost like watching the Varsity play the JV team when Fisher plays them. They are just a little bigger, a little faster, and have some more talent. It all adds up to a 52-10 loss for Fisher. I think Fisher could have kept the game a little closer, but not much they could do about the final outcome. MUC was just too much.

It happens.  MUC is out of this world.  No harm no foul.  Non-league, out of region loss won't hurt/help at the end of the year anyways.

Does the series end this year?

Hartwick up 14-6 near the end of the first.

I'm pretty sure it was just a home and home series...

They got off to a bad start on their first two possessions as special teams miscues led directly to 14 pts for MUC...

The run game looks smoother, they were getting good push on plays and Bailey looks to have a better pocket presence...

Yah those punt screwups really hurt them early. They almost seemed a bit too fired up. But actually, their coverage unit was exceptional the whole game and really made some great plays.

Defensively, I thought Fisher was very good against the run. They didn't allow a lot of big plays on the ground, didn't allow big cutbacks and tackled well. I know that MUC is not really set at RB, but there were no big gains on the ground.

I was a little surprised they didn't try to go down field more because Bailey's got a nice arm--but there probably wasn't much open. He also seems to be pretty mobile in the pocket, which will serve him well against IC.

Fisher was also very disciplined. They got flagged on having an ineligible receiver and once on a personal foul, but there were no holdings, or false starts, or offsides.
There was only one turnover, but that was just the result of a bad snap.

Frankly, I think there are a lot of positives to take from this game if you're Fisher. The score may be ugly, but this doesn't seem like a team that will help you beat them. All in all, a good showing

The only big thing that I didn't like about today is that at times, see Short's long TDs, a couple of guys in the secondary seemed to have cement shoes...

Other than that they did a good job vs the run game.  They didn't allow those cut backs that killed them vs MUC previously...

I think they can be a really good team this year in the east region...

I still don't know how Shorts took that out pass to the end zone...but he'd do that to almost anyone in the East.

As far as IC goes, nice defense boys. Bergerstock's not playing is a concern. Anyone got an official word on an injury?

HHawks

Hartwick wins 49-25, Noah Koreman had monster game, well over 200 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns. RB Tosh Demulder had over 150 yards rushing and 5 touchdowns.

yep, and if the 2003 Yankees played in the 2004 ALCS, Aaron Boone would've hit ANOTHER series-winning home run!!

If IC's national championship team played Curry last year, everything would have been different!

not sure if you're an english tutor FA, but I don't think anyone would argue about MUC being venerable....

brutal post, I know. just teasing. +k.

All in all a good day in the E8..Good wins by Ithaca,Hartwick, and Alfred. SJF did not fair to well on the scoreboard but did very well against a team thats well Mount Union. I went to that game today and honestly saw alot of very positive things from SJF. Special teams (especially punt coverage was spot on). I think MU gained maybe a total of 5 yards all game in punt returns. Offense moved the ball well, Bailey was very mobile when MU brought the attack and defense did a good job stopping the run, SJF defense had a few issues with the passing attack of MU but all in all did well. MU is a team in a class of its own. SJF should be proud of how they played.. Still not gonna win the E8 this year..:) but ya did a good job...

I realize that in a way you guys are giving Mount credit......but to say there were a lot of "positives" for SJF in this game is a bit of a reach.  if SJF's goal is to be able to contend for a national championship, well......YIKES!  I know Mount is Mount....but I thought SJF's effort was feeble at best, and unathletic to say the least.  They are NOT good.  Sure....if they have a good day they can beat anyone in the E-8..but what does that mean?

As I said last year....SJF showed signs of really stepping up to be an elite team, but that has really gone away.  The D-backs for SJF seemed really slow, and weak.  Don't get me wrong....I want to see what DB or two can cover Cecil Shorts.  #33 is one tough linebacker.  If you think Bailey is a "mobile QB", you weren't watching the same game.  SJF is a decent D-III team, but nothing that would make anyone think they could contend on a national level.

that double reverse-flea flicker was a great trick play, set up the field goal
