I would rather just say Fisher is the favorite to be the #1 seed in the East now. Maybe that is a bit ambitious!!!!

May be just a bit ambitious, but dlip loves when a dude will get behind his team as long as the hopes are realistic. dlip feels SJF is clearly in the top ten, but a clear favorite, no. Turner makes a good point the MAC may be making a statement in 09. dlip really likes Del Val, thinks Wilkes is right there, and also believes Leb Val is decent. Right now dlip is feeling like Rowan is going to make some noise and may be his favorite if he had to pick one right now. Obviously Union has the potential to be for real, RPI leaves a lot unknown but carrying two seemingly solid QB's, Ithaca is still going to be right there, BUT dlips sleeper in the E8 is The Pride. They took it to King's yesterday putting up ****in over 50. Carter is in stride and that triple opt can be down right ODB (Old Dirty Bastard) on any opposition.

Joe Myhren (RB) and Josh Cater (QB) are putting up some decent numbers here and seem like they are becoming a very dangerous tandem.

VS Kings:
Rushing         No Gain Loss  Net TD Lg  Avg
Joe Myhren      11  155    5  150  2 40 13.6
Josh Carter     18   99    7   92  2 19  5.1
B. Cunningham   20  109    3  106  0 33  5.3

Passing         Att-Cmp-Int Yds TD Long Sck
Josh Carter       14-5-0    101  2   35   0

This Pride may be quite dangerous come E8 play.

Union also has Muhlenburg & Salisbury OOC which will be brutally tough games.

Muhlenberg looks to be in rebuilding mode based on comments I've read over at the Centennial board, and Salisbury just lost to NC Wesleyan, so maybe you won't face quite the challenges you originally expected.

I think a lot of this talk about huge number of teams in the conversation for top spots in the playoffs is a testament to the improved quality of the East Region. It seems to me that, even as recently as 4 years ago, there was a lot of talent on a few teams, but a big drop off to the next level. I think some teams are moving up in quality, and teams that have been at the top need to continue to improve the quality of their programs to be able to count on a playoff game. I think that is a good thing for the East.

Wow that is hard to believe. Union is not that bad of a team. I guess if you lose and no one else does in the top 25  you tend to fall and fall hard.

Anybody think if Fisher goes unbeaten and finishes 8-1, they could get the #1 seed in the East? Only loss would be to Mt. Union, and clearly it would also depend on what happens in the North too. Thoughts?

It's possible. I thought non-region games really didn't count as much in the grand scheme of ranking for playoff seed. I could be wrong.

You are correct.

SJF's loss to MUC was a non-region loss.

Gave Utica an honorable mention in my East Region Poll. HHawks makes a great point, we will learn a lot about Utica this Saturday in Troy. dlip will tell you one thing if they win they may become more than just a sleeper.

SJFF82

Utica will scare some teams this year at .500 and will be ready to take the next step next year.  SJF, IC and AU are still too much for Utica to handle....enough cliches in there?  Wick you gave up 70 to them so hush for now.  You can only beat Fisher.

SJFF82

Curious about IC fan's assessment of their game at Union.  Tough loss or are their some unexpected chinks in the armor?
