Ithaca eeks out yet another win.... at this point it looks like the Bombers either:

1) Can't recover from all their injuries.

2) Play to the level of their opponents.

3) Suck.

None of these bode well for the long term....

Sorry to be so negative after a win, but when it mattered Hartwick drove easily and IC couldn't. If it weren't for the 4 picks this game might have been backwards.

Also, not trying to take anything away from Hartwick, they showed a lot of heart and talent.

Max my friend you kinda contradicted yourself, "Hartwick showed alot of heart and talent" Bombers played a good team today and won. A win is a win. Yeah it wasnt a blow out and they had some issues..Lets face it IC's secondary will always be an issue they way they play defense, our running game well its not the greatest but its got the job done so far. A win is a win. I will be content if they win every game her on out by one point as long as they are winning.

well... ok, but you understand how beating HC by 4 makes me worry about beating alfred? or cortland?

I see your point, and it does makes me nervous too. But I have a good feeling about this team..Guess we we see what will happen.

Hartwick is never an easy win, but I am suprised IC stuggled to score on them. I could see the game being close and finishing 54-50 or something like that. I was just suprised by the score I guess. It sets up the big game next week with Fisher and IC getting together on the south hill. I think next weeks game is kind of an elimination game for both teams. Fisher can not afford to get the conference schedule started with a loss. I don't think they will recover, and they may be looking at a 5-4 season. If IC loses that makes that game with AU really really big.

There is a lot of football to be played but I think this game will have a lot to say about who wins the league.
GO FISHER!!!

I went to the Wick vs. IC game this weekend. It was a great college football game.

I think the Wick coaching staff should get some kudos for their work. I got to see IC's offensive line up close, they are huge. Hartwick dline was giving up 40-60 lbs per man. With that being said, they played the run very tough. I believe the Wick stats show IC with 66 yards rushing. Last year, Bergerstock had 268 by himself. I know he has been hurt but with that offensive line, I would have thought they would pound Hartwick into the turf.

It appeared the defensive game plan was to stop the run and not get beat deep with the pass. Early on IC had no problem doing that and the QB made some great throws. After the first quarter's 14 points, the Hartwick D played very well. I think the secondary could have played better but overall a great effort. When they needed stops in the 4th quarter to give us a chance to win the game, they did. Last year, we didn't force one punt.

I have noticed this year that the D seems to figure things out after the first couple of drives. Maybe the new defensive coordinator is growing in the job.

Offensively, we moved the ball up and down the field but shot ourselves in the foot with interceptions. But I was was happy we moved the ball against a good team like we did.
Again, like on the defensive side, IC was much bigger. They were rotating 8 D linemen and the all looked the same, 6-5 260lbs....I will give the Hartwick offensive line their props...zero sacks against an obvious mismatch.

Only one complaint on the officials....It appeared that on one of IC's TD drives, #22 had stripped the ball out of the runner's hands and was headed the other way for a good 5-10 yards before the whistle was blown.  I think the refs missed it...could have been a 14 point difference.

I don't know how we will fare the rest of the season, but I think Hartwick proved they can play AB(After Boltus).

Just found this and thought people might find it interesting.... shows what scouts think of Boltus, maybe a little window into how talent at this level translates to the next...

wickfan dlip has to give you that. dlip has/is always very critical of Wick because of their horse**** schedule but was very happy to see them play a tough game against an O.K. (decent) Ithaca team. Honestly dlip thought they were going to get ****in vibrated and they really made a good showing. wickfans should hold their heads up high.

For one, it's that time of year...and two, because I know it will piss off the Fisher faithful...

In any event, this will officially be the second time I will actually be rooting hard for SJF (the first was against Alfred in the last game of the year in 2007).  I am not going to lie to you...it feels wrong...really wrong...like I imagine how a new convict feels after his first date in the Penn feels wrong...

Well someone had to do it I guess. This game is the big one in my house. I am a Fisher Alum, but my wife is an IC alum, and this game will pretty much decide how my marriage goes for the next several weeks. The last couple of years have been great because I can always say how my team beat hers when I am working through the list of tasks she gives me. I can't wait. Every year, we have a big tailgate, we go to the game, and 4 of the last 5 years it has ended well for the men in the family. Ooooh just a few more games.
GO FISHER!!!

boobyhasgameyo

I don't think it's too much to ask that Ithaca never beat Fisher ever again......ever

dlip is pulling for IC for a couple of reasons:

-Grastorf is a graduate of Niskayuna high school dlips alum
-Grastorfs father was the AD when dlip was playing hockey/lax in High school and suspended dlip on two occasions for acting like an asshole. He should have thrown dlip off both teams but he was a very nice man who always would listen to what you had to say. Needless to say Mr. Grastorf set a great example for dlip and is one of the reasons he became a teacher.
-Ithaca win makes Union look good
-dlip feels Ithaca is rated way to high in the d3.poll and dlip feels with a loss another east region team may drop from the poll
-dlip guesses thats it. He respects both programs and usually pulls for SJF but this year feels Ithaca will be better off with the W.
