Wow, 82, it took you nine whole minutes to re-consider your smack talk. I think that'll correlate pretty well to elapsed time into Saterday's game that Fisher fans start heading for the exits....

Well, ya know...I gotta have it set up both ways.

fisheralum91

enjoy the game 82
wish i was going.
best bet is the AU game.

Seems to be an unusual lack of chatter with the upcoming IC v SJF game.  Truly a different season.

Both big games....and both contests will certainly peel back the onion on what all 4 teams truly are in '09.

Nah Saxon if you look at last year the same thing was happening, it was very quiet in the week leading up to the game.

Maybe if Ithaca would have actually played a competitive game against Fisher the past 3 years there might be more smack talk going on........and I thaaaaaaank you.  There that was my cheap shot, I'll go crawl back into my hole now and be eerily quiet until game time.

I always like Simeons on the commons for dinner, but they may have been more for the beer selection.  You also have that Farmhouse on Rte 89 across from Taughannok St Park, the name of which escapes me.  The food is also pretty good at that waterfront bar/restaraunt near the Cornell boathouse (before you hit 89/96 coming from Rte 79).

Cortland is all about the beer and sex, but from the few times partying there back in my college days, I didn't meet many girls who had any shame.

If you ever met even one, that would be a first in history...

Well the good thing about Cortland is you don't have to step over drunk kids who can't drink 3 beers all night!

So if 82 were to find a place to store his 4 kids this Friday night and Sat. afternoon, where would he take Mrs. 82 for some dinner and overnight accomodations in the Ithaca region...say within a 30 mile radius.

If you are looking at Ithaca...go with the Mohagany Grill (sp), which is right down in the Ithaca Commons.  Great crab cakes.  If you are venturing out further, there are two restaurants in Horseheads (25 mins down Route 13) right off the highway that are great.  Louie's or Tanino's...both of which are right in Hanover Square.  Hotel's...I would go with the Hampton Inn on the south side of Ithaca.

Stay away from Cortland...they have nothing but burger and fry joints...and the place reeks of sweat, sex, and shame...
Sounds like a jaded Sunday morning for you!

not so rowdy bomber

Rowdy wants to know whose going to be at Butterfield on Saterday?  er... today?

see you in Z-lot!
Go Bombers

Funny, I dont think I have ever been in Simeons.  It looks like a great bar now (that im in my 30s) but I still have never been that place.

Is moonshadows still going strong?  I always liked that place.  They had this fantastic beer called 'prior' which was sort of a porter but was fantastic.  I have never heard of or seen that beer since.

IC would have been 2-2 at this point with SJF's schedule...

Not to talk anything away from Fisher, who deserves this win, but this is an absolutely pathetic performance by the Bombers on their home field. They can score all the garbage time points they want, but if Fisher had any semblance of a kicking game, it would have been 34-0 in the 4th quarter. Pathetic on every level.

Ithaca has the worst offensive line I've seen in a long time. They can't run block at all, the pass protection is weak, and they take terrible penalties. The defense can't stop anyone, and even with Scalice out, there's no excuse for this.

And how about making a second half adjustment against Fisher? Nah, that'd be too much to ask. Instead, once again, a close game in the first half turns into a blowout.

Forget the E8, and forget the playoffs. If the Bombers go 6-4 this season, I'd consider that an amazing recovery. But heck, with Alfred, Cortland and even Springfield still on the docket, who's to say that's not optimistic? That 38-year long streak of winning seasons is in jeopardy as far as I'm concerned.

This could go down as one of Welch's worst teams. And let's face it: Fisher OWNS Ithaca. 100%, no questions asked. The Ithaca College Bombers are now property of the St. John Fisher Cardinals. Congratulations, boys.

Not to get too excited, but might this be the year Rodney Dangerfield moves out of Mayberry?  Mayberry juice might be the new Kool Aid.  :)
