Is it safe to say the East Region is pretty much terrible this year?

Ithaca, Cortland, RPI, Union, Hobart.... is there anyone out ther excited about their team? (Besides the Utica's and U of R's of the world, who are excited to be competitive)

Not terrible. Just lots of parity. No dominating teams.

I have to disagree......this is not parity IMO.....this is a very bad year for the East.

any of you guys watching the UC-Fisher game.. can you post on the updates board... want to keep up on the game, but can't listen to teh radio. thanks!

It's 14-10 Fisher at halftime.  Utica's TD came on a returned Fumble for TD.

It's not a question of "dominating" per se. Are any of these teams even very good? Do any of them strike you as a team that could make a deep run in the NCAA's? There's no week in, week out consistency from a lot of these teams.

Another great effort by Freshman Christian Zemaitis tonight...

21 Carries, 120yds and 3 TDs...

I like Utica's offense, a nice mix of screens and misdirection.  They have some playmakers on the outside...

They are a power running game away from being a consistent threat in the E8...

A good win for Fisher. Utica is a good team and will cause a lot of teams fits in a year or two. I am happy Fisher was able to avoide the upset. Got it done, but I was impressed with UC.
GO FISHER!!!

It's nice that Carlton is a senior and all but seriously Zemaitis needs to start and get at least 30 touches a game...

Yeah, they have to get that kid the ball. He is a stud. I was talking to someone who knows the IC coaching staff, and they were saying that he was better than Robby, and he is only a freshman.
GO FISHER!!!

Sorry in that I'm a little loose after a great engineer win, but wanted to clarify.  I don't believe that SJF's ceiling has been elevated by the Bills.  They may have accelerated their progress from nothing to relevant bc of the Bills, but I don't think they alter SJF's ceiling.  As for Cortland, who's currently a regular in the mix for the playoffs, I don't believe the Jets changes thwir ceiling vis a vis IC.  In fact, I think Cortland people are smoking the kind stuff if they think the Jets will make thwm a better institution, but whatever makes you sleep better at night.  GO JACKETS!!!!!!

I can tell you this, if the Bills are not holding camp at SJF they are not where they are as a program today...

agreed upstate... The Bills not only accelerated the football program... but I would go as far as to say that the Bills saved SJFC as a school

You're the only dood on the board that doesn't know & accept that '57 can't spell.

Poor grammar and horrible spelling... it's just how he rolls.

They should rename the mascot to the St. John Fisher Buffalo Bills.
GO FISHER!!!

Whoa, when did I post last night?  Some guy named Blantons hijacked my computer (or blackberry, not sure which).

I don't know SJF's internal situation, endowment etc., but when I played in the late 90's and Bart was a little better than .500 SJF was generally a win, but a tough out and I always thought they were capable of being better (usually had good size but generally wasn't very disciplined and I'll leave it at that).  In 99 we won 16-0, but that was a really tough game.  In 96 we lost to SJF.  So I don't see SJF's improvement as related to exogenous events, but more organic improvement.  That's coming from an outside perspective from that period of time for what it's worth.  That being said, I really don't think it changes much for Cortland.

saved the school super--cmon
that is way extreme.
was there a point that i dont know about that they were going to board up the college?

What are our chances against Alfred next weekend?  I keep up with Fisher, but don't know much about Alfred this year.  Any thoughts or predictions?
