Looks like Ralph Wilson finally woke up.  He's only 2 years late...

"Jauron was blindsided by the firing, an NFL source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter."

How the hell was he blindsided by this?  That is like jumping off a diving board and then shocked when you hit water...

This is an early Christmas present for me!!

Jauron is so oblivious to everything that I'm pretty sure he's blindsided daily when the sun goes down...

Maybe he figured that as long as Mangini was employed by the Browns everyone else in the NFL was safe.

Hahaha...maybe.  That was awful last night.  All bubble screens and inside runs.  It was like the Browns weren't even trying.  I mean, at one point late in the thrid, Quinn had only attempted one pass over 15 yards out of about 13-15.

Mangini's only win came in a 6-3 win over Buffalo...

this just in
Fisher to host Cortland at noon Sat ---just got the text

This just in, someone shot President Kennedy...

Viper...like a snake lying in wait...+k (oops.dont have it anymore)

This just in...Ithaca's elitist attitude about the ECAC's was not enough to get them into the LL where they couldve competed year in and year out for league supremacy with RPI, nope, I mean Union, nope, I mean Hobart, Nope, I mean Susquehana....?

As opposed to Fisher, nope, I mean Springfield, nope, I mean Ithaca, nope, I mean Alfred....?

What is the difference?

Pumpkin...sometimes its helpful to start out back at the beginning...here is the original thread that started this tortured debate.

You see I simply stated...actually made a joke, about the power brokers, if you will, of the LL and E8.

There is no debate that Susq is not a power broker of the LL even after winning it.  You say Hobart, RPI, Union and thats it...you never utter the word Susquehana or however the hell you spell it. In fact when I was watching the selection show Sunday, it originally occured to me that the dlippin NCAA forgot to select the LL winner for the bracket....I was like WTF, they forgot Union.  Then I looked again and I was like WTF....who is that Susq name on there, I think THEY might play in the LL...WTF happened on Saterday?

The point is, nobody would say that about Alfred in the E8...they are not a WTF team, despite having not made the NCAAs for many years.  Everyone in these circles knows that they have been a 'player' in the E8 for several years.

That is the only thing this issue was.  It was never meant to be a comparison of the E8 v. the LL.  It wasnt about picking certain years and debating strength of teams.

Besides I was just poking fun at the LL for not accepting IC...and then Terd started arguing that Susq was like Alf....just aint true.

pumkinattack

Yeah, I was getting a little tired of the whole debate since I personally think the East is not as strong this year as the 05-07 period.

The reality is though, that it's really not a surprise that SUS won given the personnel that they've brought back and, as I've stated even in their bad years they were competitive - how many 2-8 teams beat 8-3 teams in conference?  Nonetheless, this year was set up for Union to win and they blew it as far as I'm concerned (and wasted a win over IC in the process).

Pep recalls being asked, by LL fans, how Susquehanna looked, as AU scrimmaged at Selinsgove back in late August. Pep is too lazy to go back and see what he said but remembers something along the line that they had a solid QB and RB and could be a contender for the LL title. Similar to what Kickoff had to say, for those who read that.

Interesting, Kickoff also featured a story about Alfred and how this could be the Saxons' year to emerge as a participant in the NCAAs after several years of knocking at the door.

Now Pep is hoping that the Saxons don't settle for just "making it to the NCAAs" but prove themselves to be true contenders, not pretenders. Stay tuned.

Apparently Juron wasn't watching the games afterall. How could he have expected anything else? You can only lose to Cleveland and Tennesee so many times.

Well, if he wants to beat IC, getting out of an Alfred uniform and into a Fisher one would help...

Well said TAD,   ONE game at a time.

Although, I have kept a cursury eye on Albright  It is a very nice small school and have had some very good teams.  One of my daughters thought about going there about 3 years ago.

Let's see what the' 09 Saxons can do.  Not sure yet if I will be there.

Best Wishes

And beyond that, the gurus ranked Alfred 27th coming into the season which is exactly where they sit in the Top 25 voting after week 11!

AU has averaged 8 wins a year since 04...

SU has averaged 4 wins a year since 04...

See, I gotta do a better job of keeping up with the selection criteria. I didn't realize that teams were selected and ranked on their 6 year records. Scrotch THIS year was a good, but certainly not great, team. Alfred THIS year was a good, not great, team. If they don't get smoked by Ithaca I'd have called them a very good team. Both the LL and E8 were average leagues this year.

And I'm not sure either of us (LL fans or E8 fans) should be talking crap about each other, at this point it feels like determining the tallest midget.

Actually you just gotta read the posts all in context rather than cherry pick to try and be funny.  The thread was about Terd's comment that AU and Susq's rise to their respective conference titles were somehow similar.  The responses, like the one you responded to, were to illustrate that Susq. was a nobody for some time before this year and that AU was a 'player' for some time before this year....so of course, with that being the issue, the six year record are not only relevant but the answer to the question...go be funny about what is funny...Susq winning the LL...

Actually, I did read the posts in context, and chose to interpret them however the hell I please. Others may have been trying to put it in that context, mine (and others) was what the hell does a 5 year record have to do with a particular years team.

As to being funny, well, I'll keep trying, but congratulations to you, your trying days are over, you've accomplished your goal of being a total ******Bag. Different name, same old...
