HE ISNT WRONG.................

BUT....................

I'll chime in on the Mount Union debate for a minute.  I am not saying that any team in the East is a powerhouse this year, but to generally say that we suck as a region compared to other regions simply because Mount Union destroys our best team in the quarterfinals every year is crazy.  Mount Union destroys pretty much everyone, expect for UWW, and that has been only recently.  They have exactly 6 losses in 11 years.  They are 151-6 in the last 11 years.  If you threw Mount Union (a team with a 96.18% winning percentage over the past decade plus) into the South Region bracket every single year instead of the East, how many of their teams from the South Region would make it past them and into the semi-finals?

During this stretch, the East Region teams have exactly as many wins against Mount Union as teams from the South and North Regions have...one each.

Right now Mount Union and UWW are head and shoulders above everyone else.  Absolutely no question there.  But to be told we suck as a region when we generally won't get the opportunity to play against teams from other regions (in the semis as an example) simply because there are such long shot odds at beating Mount Union to begin with doesn't make any sense.

Yanks,
Maybe im reading wrong- but skunks was saying that tongue in cheek- as was I.

That said- until someone from the east proves otherwise.....UMU---ick...will be the team to beat when they get shipped to the east every year.

I will say this..after much discussion with Fisher faithful- this season may be one for the books...... ;D

None...i don't see Wesley or MHB knocking them off in the south.

No worries 91...that was just a general comment about the East Region.  I brought this up last year at playoff time as well.  I agree with you though...the quickest/easiest way to get rid of this misconception as a whole is to beat Mount Union...not that there is anything simple about that at all.

Does Ithaca have an offensive coordinator this year?
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

Definitely having fun, tongue in cheek.  I could go on and on how Mount "reloads", and will "always dominate the East", but that would be boring and myopic.  I could also go on and on about how Mount has more questions to answer this year then in almost any recent year's past, but that would also sound just a little too much like fake "woe is me" bull crap.

They DO have questions that need to be answered this year, but odds are they will answer them to the postive.  With LK at the helm, it seems to be a very safe bet.  When you have 240 kids show up for football on the first day, odds are you can find a few players.  And mind you, out of those 240 there is a very high amount that were all-conference, all-county, all-state, etc...

In my view, for a D-III school to compete with the likes of Mount & WW even on an occasional basis, it takes a very dynamic head coach, a committment from the school to support the program philosophically and financially, and the building of a winning tradition with some post-season success.  Things then just feed upon themselves, and it becomes a program that keeps gaining momentum.

Yanks and Skunks, great points in a very good discussion +K all around!!!

You can only wonder what an East team will do vs other regions, last time I believe they were sent to a region other than MUC was 03 when RPI went to St. Johns.  They were competitive for the first half but the game got away in the 2nd...

The best we can hope for this year, as a region, is to have at least two undefeated teams so we can get a #1 seed and won't be the lowest region ranked...

Great conversation today fellas. +K all around.

I agree with most of the points on here, but as long as UMU (I guess) is as close to the east as they are, and the East does not have a dominant team, or two, I don't think we will find out how other regions would do. It would be great if UMU could be shipped somewhere else to give an East Region team a chance to make it to the Semis or Finals. When Fisher had a chance a few years ago, it was a lot of fun. Having said that I totally understand why the NCAA does not do that.

I don't know if this has been answered on here, but does Fisher have a scrimmage this year? I would think if it is going to happen it will be this Saturday, but I don't remember seeing anything about it.

Fisher faithful- Have the Bills broken camp yet so the boys can get back to Growney?

I am getting antsy about this season.....I hate that it is the end of summer, but I love this time of year!

sjfcards

91. According to the Bills webpage the AM practice today is the end of camp at Fisher.

Thanks!
I assume that it will take a bit to break down most of it- but good to know that the boys will be "home" soon.

I am wondering how the construction of the new track and field/second grand stand on the visitors side of Growney is going to impact fans at games. According to the alumni publication plans are set to start construction in the "fall of 2010". Things may get worse before they get better for visiting fans.

As long as they are ready for our trip north in 2011!!
