Obviously poking fun at my own expense - I know better than to throw stones in this glass house ;)

That said I do think the simple, classic look SJF has going works well.

Hobart's new unis are nice too but I'd prefer they actually dress in the school colors someday (i.e., royal purple and orange, not blue).

I guess it's cheaper / easier to look like Syracuse than Clemson, but I'd love to see the Statesmen decked out this way at some point:

Purple unis

As posted before, Pep remembers the days when Hobart wore purple and orange, although the orange was not a bright orange at the time and wasn't far off Alfred's gold, making Hobart-Alfred games a nice battle of purple, much like the Stagg Bowl has been of late.
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

I recall the same.  I have that down as a question to ask Hobart AD Mike Hanna in a couple of weeks, either on ITH or when I am in Geneva for the SJF vs. Hobart game on 9/25 ;)

Ithaca sucks.

:D

I'd resent that...if it didn't appear to be true. From the things I've heard, my 8-2 prediction could be two wins optimistic.

I think there's just a lack of compelling storylines/even rivalries. Just from an Ithaca perspective, it's a little hard to get into a back and forth with Fisher guys since we never actually beat them. And we've beaten Alfred three straight times as well.

Actually, I blame you Alfred guys.
You're too nice and even-keeled. It's so hard to get riled up over anything you write. And the offseason's lame.

Don't worry, I'm sure if a few weeks we'll get regaled by stories of how none of Fisher's losses should count against them in Pool C since all were surrounded by extenuating circumstances.  ;)

Let's just start making fun of the NJAC or LL instead.

Pep is miffed that he's always getting blamed for everything. And Pep is genuinely irked that one who puts very little effort into spicing up the boards would have the nerve to label the off-season as "lame" when Pep has poured his guts out on these boards throughout the off-season, offering updates on an aged dying "grand" mini-van, (Sort of like a jumbo shrimp, no?)   not to mention updates on the removal and replacement of that killer AstroTurf12 surface at Merrill Field that everyone's always griping about.

Pep believes in the sowing principle. As a man sows, so shall he reap. It has been a fantastic off-season on the boards...but now it's time to lay that aside and get down to business. As Pep is apt to say, "Get the fight song ready!"

Well, hadn't seen this mentioned yet on the board, so I figured I would.  Six projected Bomber starters, including 4 team captains, have been suspended for this week's season opener against St. Lawrence.  Reason given was an unspecified 'violation of team rules.'

colgate--really dont care he is a Cardinal now!
He can be used in many many ways...
Returning kicks/punts- WR-HB
you name it!

Kind of like a Reggie Bush for East Region Division III. I am hoping that they use him in several ways to ensure that FuQuan Borom and Christian Zemaitis can get their touches. There is only one ball, and Fisher has plenty of weapons.

not anymore...Zemaitis cooked his knee....career is over.

wha wha what?

say it aint so!

Well played Lew.
A w is a w but I hat worrying about things that are supposed to be a mere afterthought.
Im not talking about FGs.
Im talking about PATs and punts....Yikes
Last year was very hard to watch.....Games were literally lost because of those "special" teams

I don't understand how college teams can't get a few guys to snap a ball, put it on the ground and kick it through some uprights.  We're talking COLLEGE teams.  It's messed up.  I see the HS teams around here and the extra points are gimme's...and they can hit them from 40 regularly.  For some reason, there are college teams in all divisions that just can't figure it out.  Baffles me.

my guess is that not many high school kickers, who are not scholarship talent, aspire to or go on to become d3 kickers.  If no scholorship, then they go play intramurals.  That leaves scrubs to kick.
