Nice article about Fisher in the Roch D and C

http://www.democratandchronicle.com/article/20100901/SPORTS09/9010323/1007/SPORTS/St.-John-Fisher-football-aims-high

Guess 82's source was correct.....

That BLOWS...

It will be interesting to see how Borum performs as the starter...

sjfcards

Tough break for Zemaitis and Fisher. Hopefully this Borum guy is the real deal. I am officially intrigued by this Kenny Wilson guy!
GO FISHER!!!

Borum is a load to tackle, he doesn't have breakaway speed or anything more like a Jamie Donovan type (not saying he is as good, just similar running style)...

I think they're going to get Kramer involved in the run game as well as in the pass game...

Who wouldn't be intrigued by a 6'4" WR!?!

Hey fellas, new to the site.  I've been reading the boards for a few years now and figured it was time to finally get involved.  Go Bombers.

Well played Lew.
A w is a w but I hat worrying about things that are supposed to be a mere afterthought.
Im not talking about FGs.
Im talking about PATs and punts....Yikes
Last year was very hard to watch.....Games were literally lost because of those "special" teams

I don't understand how college teams can't get a few guys to snap a ball, put it on the ground and kick it through some uprights.  We're talking COLLEGE teams.  It's messed up.  I see the HS teams around here and the extra points are gimme's...and they can hit them from 40 regularly.  For some reason, there are college teams in all divisions that just can't figure it out.  Baffles me.

my guess is that not many high school kickers, who are not scholarship talent, aspire to or go on to become d3 kickers.  If no scholorship, then they go play intramurals.  That leaves scrubs to kick.

Also, high school kickers kick off of a block for PAT/FG. college kickers kick off of the ground.  It's sounds simple but I've seen a lot of kickers struggle to adapt.

Thanks Pep.  I thought everyone was a Bomber fan?  No?  Strange.

Just kidding fellas.  I played at Ithaca.

This year should be interesting for the Bombers...

This week vs. SLU- The truth is that this should be an absolute blowout like last year.  But with our QB, 4 captains and 2 year starting corner out makes it a whole new ball game.  Also, I don't think the weather is going to be very nice on South Hill this weekend (shocker, I know).  Hopefully the rain holds off as it is truly the games greatest equalizer.  I think it's going to be low scoring as will many of the games have to be this year because the Bombers' offense is young.  It's worth mentioning Coach Raymond will be on the other sideline.  Obviously he's no stranger to Ithaca.  All things considered, I'm still real confident the Bombers walk away with a win here.

Union- The name of the game here is stopping Chris Cooley.  Kid's sick.  Stop Chris Cooley, win the game.  I like Ithaca's linebacking crew.  Experienced kids.  Also, the Bombers will be at full strength.  Look for Ruffrage, Vossler and the pre-season all-american Higgins to have great days.

Widener- I believe Widener lost a lot of players from last year to graduation.  It's going to closer than the 41-17 win week 3 last year, but I think IC will be alright.

Lyco-  I really don't know much about what Lyco did last year.  I do know that they've had a new head coach there for the past 3 or so years and has really done well to bring them back to the ranks of winning seasons.  Very, very possible stumbling block here for the blue and gold.  Two years ago IC edged out Lyco and 5 years ago lost to Lyco in Lyco.

Hartwick-  I know last year's game was tight.  But, in Butterfield, how can you not like the Bombers over Hartwick?  Hopefully history repeats itself.

Fisher- @ Fisher....F*&K.  I mean you just really can't pick IC, and it's not because I don't think they're capable...but until they do, I have to be objective.

So, here's the critical point in the Bombers season.  Start out 3-0, possibly fall to 3-2.  This is when you see what your team is made of.  How they respond here will say it all.

Springboard Prep...I mean 'field- IC has won 5 of the last 6, again I love IC's linebackers.  Also, the Bombers always have a nice scheme drawn up for the Pride.  I've got a good feeling here.  Much lower scoring than last year.

Utica- They gave the Bombers a run last year.  But, gotta give the Bombers the edge here.   Just like I said about the SJF game, until they prove otherwise.

Alfred- Merrill Field.  It's no secret that the Bombers do not perform well historically at Merrill.  I'm glad they got the field turf as it was much needed.  Truly a toss up game.  Probably comes down to how healthy the teams are at the end of the year.  I believe AU's QB didn't play against the Bombers last year.  That will be the name of the game.  Whether it's picking with my heart or not, I like the Bombers in a barn burner.

Cortland- Cramming 2 years of education into 4 years.......ok, 6 years.  4 in a row!

The Bombers could finish as well as 8-2 and probably make the playoffs or struggle and end up 6-4.  I like them to at least win 7.  The o-line will need to prove themselves.  That's going to be huge.  The D should be just fine.  It's also going to be a case of the sophomore starting QB at Ithaca.  Let's see how this  version handles it.

Nice objective breakdown of IC's schedule Rock...

Welcome to the boards and +K...

Your Bombers still suck though...

fisheralum91

good to have you on rock!
nice insight on IC this year...I dont think you are off at all on that list.

As the boys of kickoff stated - the IC Fisher game should be for all the E8 marbles.

Things look very good in the land o growney.....Minus the bad news on Zemaitis.
From all accounts that i have heard and read- this team could be the best ever on East ave.
Here is hoping that Pat and his crew are correct in saying that Fisher will be playing well into the playoffs.....
And here is an odd fact....Fishers bye week-----the last week of the season........

+k rock; by the way it's Coney not Cooley...sorry just being an ass, welcome to the boards:)

dlip is sure looking forward to making the trip out to Butterfield for Union's opener against the Bombers. dlip feels the Bombers may surprise some this year but hopefully the surprises start well after their game with the Dutch. The with Union is if Coney is shut down they have one of the best receivers in the nation in Justin Gallo. SO much depends upon Drew Connelly's maturation this season at QB. With a solid frame and a very strong arm the only thing that could do Union in here in 2010 on O is interceptions.

Hey all,

Been lurking for a week or so catching up on off-season chatter.  Looking forward to catching a couple games this year as I'm now living right down the street from Fisher.  Won't make it to the opener due to a golf tourny down in Bath w/ Big Ed.

'91 when will I be graced by your presence and an ice cold UC?!?!  I'm sure i'll get the old man up for a couple tailgates for a reunion w/ Dr. Kramer as well.

Upstate- how's the family doing?  Hope you're doing well!!!!

It's looking like I won't make it to a game until Ithaca due to work travels.

60 degrees for a high in Rochester this Saturday... Welcome to football season weather!!!!

Hey Rob!
Im aiming at 2-3 games this year including the away (home for me) game at Utica College.
So if I look at the calendar correctly- Im looking at the Ithaca game as a good fit!
Ill be there with my UC iced!

Now that Doc Kramer is back- perhaps I could shake up some of the old Doctors and get them back as well!!

"Gold jacket, green jacket, who gives a ....?"

Sorry about the Cooley-Coney mix up....that one's on me. I'm a Cowboys fan (I know, I know) and they open with the Redskins, it was early in the morning and I hate Chris Cooley/ the Redskins.  I'm sure that's understandable...thanks for the correction.  +k

I'll be at Butterfield on Saturday to watch the 2010 edition of the Bombers.  Can't wait to hear the Oooga Booga....
