First and goal inside the 5 and they get stuffed on two run plays and the QB gets hurried into an incompletion...

FG is good and it's 13-3 Bombers, with 5 and change left in the 3rd...

37-0 final from Merrill Field.  I'd say that Alfred and Widener had roughly equivalent defenses, but Alfred's offense was far superior.  Alfred had incredible field position all game from a number of turnovers and converted rather consistently.  Without the deep threat that Manzer provided there weren't any quick strikes, but McCloud could develop into that option during the course of the season.  Also, I think Alfred has a better defensive unit this year.  This is the kind of game that Alfred would have won 49-17 last year, so the shutout is encouraging (though lucky with a couple late fumbles when Widener was driving and a missed FG in the first half).
