But, IC's offense is designed to average at least 17-21 points a game.

So that's why Fisher has been kicking the crap out of them lately...

Might want to send Coach Welch a memo to design an offense that scores more than Fisher...

We used to have those. But at least we never lost to Norwich

Curry...

26-21...

I'll just leave it at that...

A few posts on d3.com post patterns about an incident that probably happens in some fashion or another hundreds of times a season around the country, does not a media fire create.

IMHO, this discussion is a prime example of the internet age of overblown 'reporting'.  I mean, really, does anyone really care about a hazing incident at a d3 football program, other than 'us'?

Besides...what right do 'we' have to know and what obligation does Ithaca have to satiate a few posters on here about what 'really' happened?  Afterall, IC is a private institution.

Not to belabor this further, but I can assure you, 82, that the interest/concern around this story went beyond Post Patterns.  The comments to the story itself in the Ithaca Journal were plentiful and sought the same sort of clarification/reassurance/comfort I was referring to the other day.  I also have received a number of messages from people not on PP (before and after Sunday's "ITH") asking about what happened in the whole matter or for updates to the extent I know them.  That's what led me to post a long-winded message as I did Monday night.

That said, Ithaca and Union both have the same problem coming into this game -- young and banged up offensive lines.  I think Union's defense looked decent against Yale in the scrimmage Saturday (I ignore the score in those scenarios and actually watch the plays as they develop -- and the defense held its own for most of the scrimmage).  I think Ithaca's defense was fair-to-moderate for most of the SLU game (yardage-wise, Ithaca hammered SLU, but SLU had just one less first down that Ithaca (10-9) in that game).  The experience of one game will help the Ithaca defense improve in my opinion.

With two good defenses going against two unstable offensive lines (that's not a dig at the offensive linemen themselves -- it's just a fact that both are inexperienced and haven't played as entire units much since camps opened due to injuries), this game will be very low scoring, with both teams in the teens on the scoreboard.  I'm picking Union to win in a close one -- and it could again be decided late or by special teams.

The funny thing about an average is that it's a combination of both higher and lower numbers to get a typical or usual result.

So, for example, IC's scores the past four years:

31+45+44+10+26+44+33+24+17+20+31+29+30+16+34+35+44+48+42+40+18+17+38+69+6+41+51+42+37+43+35+21+45+21+41+27+24+17+20+26+21+23=1326

1326/42=31.57 pts/gm on AVERAGE.  I guess I was wrong, the offense is designed to score an average of 31 points a game.  I'll get right on that memo.
Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all time thing. You don't win once in a while, you don't do things right once in a while, you do them right all the time. Winning is habit.

Just a heads up, IC hasn't scored more than 17 on SJF since 2005...

Might want to get that memo to Coach Welch a little faster...

Rochester was listed as a "mid-size metro" and Ithaca was at the top of the list for "small college towns." If Ithaca is a "small college town," what the heck is Alfred?
