dlip is looking forward to making the trip tomorrow out to Ithaca for the game. Any good places to eat lunch? dlip believes the Dutchmen are ready and is quite sure after recent game results Ithaca will be ready to go, especially at home.

Is the 'Rongo in Trumansberg still around?

QuoteAgree on Connolly though, he did struggle a bit.

Look for Drew to be quite polished this year in comparison to the last two. His maturation process has really come a long way and dlip feels his play will be the key to Union's success or lack there of here in 2010.

Allow me to recommend Sammy's Buffet, if you're in a pizza/Italian mood. It's a new place (opened late last fall), and is located past Wegman's in the Tops Plaza on Route 13 south. Prices are great, and so's the food. The one negative is the lack of an alcohol license, though.

I wish I could take you in my time machine back to 1997 dlip.  Coddington, Joe's and then a pizza at Rogans before the game would hit the spot.

I heard Coddington and Rogans is gone but I'm not sure about Joe's.  It's more of a restuarant down on Rt 13.  If you are just there for a quick lunch before the game, you might just want to go down to the Commons to a place like Benchwarmers (it was there 2 years ago anyway).

Makes me think.  Up here in the rich suburbs of Boston places are going out of business left and right, I can only imagine what happend to places like Ithaca.

Jonny, Rogan's is still around, but it has new owners and the pizza isn't great. Joe's and Benchwarmers are both still around, and each has a solid presence in the community.

There've been a few closures in the area. For example, Gino's Pizzeria, one of the best in town, closed for good in the middle of the night my sophomore year. The bosses took the ovens out, the tables out, everything, and nobody knew until two days later. There have also been a few bars that have had tax troubles and closed for months at a time.

There is, and will be, only one great pizza place in Ithaca. Cristiano's. God, how I miss that place

Cristiano's turned into Gino's right?

Dlip, if your looking for a place to eat in Ithaca the Ale House is a local favorite. Relatively new, but the food is great, and the selection of drinks is second to none in Bomberland.

Actually not quite true SJF... next time you're in town venture a little farther up the East Hill toward Cornell to the Chapter House. The selection of beers there puts every other bar in town to shame, including the Ale House.

BTW, dlip, Bombers798891, and anyone else headed to the Union game (NSRB?), PM me with any tailgate plans you may have. I'm actually in town for a concert, so I may be rehearsing around then, but if not I'd love to meet some new PPers.

I can't believe Zappia is getting the start tomorrow.
Thousands of fans join in the revelry, showing their Bomber pride and support for the football team. Some fans take the rowdiness a little too far, however, by starting fights, damaging property and tipping Port-a-Potties. -Ithacan, November 10th

They do have a lot of good beers, definitely the most in the area.  I've only been there to drink though, do they serve food during the day?  Ale House is a real solid spot, but gets busy on a nice Saturday.

Can't say I have been to the chapter house, but now I have to check it out.

Must mean Hendel really didn't get it done the past few weeks.  Hendel definitely looks the part, but he's young.  It might be a case of not having a great grasp of the offense, not hitting his reads and may be an issue of leadership.

Zappia on the other hand did settle down in the second half and definitely knows the offense real well.  He's just gotta perform better than he did in the first half vs. the Larries.
