I would think Cort State could raise some money for the "Retired/Unemployed P.E. Teachers Fund"  ;D

It could raise money for the Cortland grad (phys ed) teacher who cracked Snooki in the face!

Is anyone making the trip to downtown Rochester for the Courage Bowl this weekend? Mrs. Cards, Myself, and a few friends are making the trip. Of all the games to go to, this is the easiest to get people on board for. It is such a good cause.

If I wanted to watch SJF win a football game, I'd just watch them play Ithaca  :o

I do wish more teams would do more things similar. Like, IC could do something specific to Cortaca. That game could use a soul.

Pep would like to see Cortaca used as a fund-raiser for Habitat for Humanity. Both SUNY-Cortland and Ithaca College have chapters. Heck, $1 donation from every ticket sold would go a long way toward building a house...each chapter could raise an easy $5,000.

I think that would be a great idea. It would create some good for the community out of the game, and it could add even more community interest in the game.

I like when schools can make something more out of a game. I know Cortland and Ithaca's best intramural football teams play each other, and the winner gets the Cortaca Mug (A coffee mug that is decorated like the Jug). It doesn't have much to do with what we are talking about, but stuff like that just makes college football fun.
GO FISHER!!!

speaking of the lad where has he been? barely shown his "mug" around here since football season began? is he hanging on the hope the rays beat the yanks to the title?

You know, I'm offended none of you brought up the Cortaca Mic, a game held between the two college radio stations, WICB and--I kid you not--WSUC. (It's like they want us to make fun of them)

I was a member of the initial ICB team, and proudly threw an interception which was returned for a touchdown. Josh Felliceti was so impressed by my prowess, he honored me at the game the next day by re-creating the moment with Stef Sair. To think, had I read the coverage properly, we could have beaten Cortland and not had to go to Union in the opening round.

Sorry Coach Welch.

But seriously, WSUC?

I heard at one point that the administration was looking at making Fisher a University.
They would have to keep the "john" in the name because otherwise it would be

StFU

Thanks for bringing this up, Bombers. One of the great jinxes the past four years is, the winner of the Cortaca Mic has LOST the Cortaca Jug. Methinks that's just because WSUC's been rumored to bring in JV players for the game, though! :P

I thinkt he university option is still on the table for Fisher. They now have all of the state requirements to put a U at the end of their initials, but have not gone that direction yet.

And I would Love a shirt with a StFU on it. My Fordam shirt is getting worn out.
GO FISHER!!!
