That also used to be the name of the WIAC -- the Wisconsin State University Conference.

Wouldn't that be WiSUC?

You know, I'm offended none of you brought up the Cortaca Mic, a game held between the two college radio stations, WICB and--I kid you not--WSUC. (It's like they want us to make fun of them)

I was a member of the initial ICB team, and proudly threw an interception which was returned for a touchdown. Josh Felliceti was so impressed by my prowess, he honored me at the game the next day by re-creating the moment with Stef Sair. To think, had I read the coverage properly, we could have beaten Cortland and not had to go to Union in the opening round.

Sorry Coach Welch.

But seriously, WSUC?

Thanks for bringing this up, Bombers. One of the great jinxes the past four years is, the winner of the Cortaca Mic has LOST the Cortaca Jug. Methinks that's just because WSUC's been rumored to bring in JV players for the game, though! :P

You should tank it this year

Little late for that, unfortunately. I'll send the message along.

I have found an explanation for Utica's sudden scoring output.  Obviously, the scenario in this article is not confined to Togo -- Utica just found NFL players to substitute:

So what did the Utica players do last week? Fill in for Union?

Would have been funnier if you told Frank that Union should have suited up Utica's team to give them a better chance vs Ithaca...

But funny none the less...

Thanks Prof. Upstate; I agree, but did the first response have to be the critical edition? Let max take his zingers when he can get them.

Hey Upstate - I just now noticed I received a PM from you a few weeks back regarding Fisher's training camp.  You see everybody this is what happens when we don't say "Hey <insert name here> you have a PM".  Better late than never though!

I got a reply from every other Fisher follower that I sent it to, I just figured you were too cool to respond to it!

Kidding...

Do you have trouble getting your voicemails unless someone texts you letting you know it's there?
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

Well considering voicemails are a frequent occurrence and my blackberry indicator light flashes...I am going to go with no.  These private messages on the other hand - I have had 8 of them in the 6+ years I have been on this site.  So I average a little over 1 per year.  I don't exactly check it often.

PBR...

don't you have them copied to an email address you check regularly? like your own home email or work email?

No sir, I really only use my work email and I don't list that here.  Me thinks I will just check a touch more frequently.  Maybe I'll make it a Monday ritual or something.

In football related news.  While driving back to work from lunch I heard on the radio that the capacity of Rhino's stadium is approximately 14,000 or so.  They anticipate a maximum draw of 10,000 for the Courage Bowl.  In all honesty I see it as probably getting to about 7,000 or so.  Even though that would be the largest crowd for any one Courage Bowl does anybody else see that as discouraging?  Playing in a half full stadium?

Can't speak for other teams in the East, but would guess that most play for ~<1,000 per game in the regular season - games like Cortaca, etc. excluded.

That said a 7K turnout would seem pretty good by most D3 teams' standards....

You know, people toss around the idea of playing Cortaca on a neutral field like Cornell or Syracuse and I always see that as a drawback. Even we're talking relative sizes, I always thought % capacity was what made those games "feel" big. I'm not against getting a few extra butts in the seats, but the tradeoff seems too much

<1,000 seems pretty low to me.  I would expect 'average' crowds closer to 1,500-2,000 from my experience.
