No sir, I really only use my work email and I don't list that here.  Me thinks I will just check a touch more frequently.  Maybe I'll make it a Monday ritual or something.

In football related news.  While driving back to work from lunch I heard on the radio that the capacity of Rhino's stadium is approximately 14,000 or so.  They anticipate a maximum draw of 10,000 for the Courage Bowl.  In all honesty I see it as probably getting to about 7,000 or so.  Even though that would be the largest crowd for any one Courage Bowl does anybody else see that as discouraging?  Playing in a half full stadium?

With the way that stadium is set up they can fill most that lower bowl around the entire stadium with 7-10K...

I'm hoping it's a good turnout, I would expect both schools to shuttle over students...

I bought my seats on ticketmaster and have one of the corner sections, the "service charge" is like 3 bucks a ticket which is killer though...

Hey Upstate - I just now noticed I received a PM from you a few weeks back regarding Fisher's training camp.  You see everybody this is what happens when we don't say "Hey <insert name here> you have a PM".  Better late than never though!

Do you have trouble getting your voicemails unless someone texts you letting you know it's there?

Well considering voicemails are a frequent occurrence and my blackberry indicator light flashes...I am going to go with no.  These private messages on the other hand - I have had 8 of them in the 6+ years I have been on this site.  So I average a little over 1 per year.  I don't exactly check it often.

Is anyone making the trip to downtown Rochester for the Courage Bowl this weekend? Mrs. Cards, Myself, and a few friends are making the trip. Of all the games to go to, this is the easiest to get people on board for. It is such a good cause.

If I wanted to watch SJF win a football game, I'd just watch them play Ithaca  :o

I do wish more teams would do more things similar. Like, IC could do something specific to Cortaca. That game could use a soul.

Pep would like to see Cortaca used as a fund-raiser for Habitat for Humanity. Both SUNY-Cortland and Ithaca College have chapters. Heck, $1 donation from every ticket sold would go a long way toward building a house...each chapter could raise an easy $5,000.

I think that would be a great idea. It would create some good for the community out of the game, and it could add even more community interest in the game.

I like when schools can make something more out of a game. I know Cortland and Ithaca's best intramural football teams play each other, and the winner gets the Cortaca Mug (A coffee mug that is decorated like the Jug). It doesn't have much to do with what we are talking about, but stuff like that just makes college football fun.

If memory serves me, I believe our own JQV was once a Mug Champion...

speaking of the lad where has he been? barely shown his "mug" around here since football season began? is he hanging on the hope the rays beat the yanks to the title?

Sorry boys.  Been real busy lately.  Max had to text me to tell me that I had become a topic of conversation.

I was hoping to reach HollaDawg status before making my return but it was not to be.

Two things:

1) I won the FIRST EVER Cortaca Mug.  (in fact, we named it "the Mug" after the game but there was no mug then...bastards).

2) This has been taking up a lot of my time:  http://www.therayarea.com

With regard to the talk about the courage bowl being played in a half full stadium, I think the move downtown is a move for the future. I agree that a half full stadium will take away from the game this year, but if the game can grow as planned, then what an atmosphere they could have in a few years.
GO FISHER!!!

finally season premiere  of "its always sunny in philadelphia" is on fx in 5 minutes...still the funniest show on tv today

Does this qualify as "legitimate media?"  :-)  Good product, JQV.  Keep up the good work, despite our differences of late.

So what can IC expect from Widener tomorrow? Any chance this game is close? I know Alfred whooped them pretty good but the first game of the year is often an outlier.

Lots of running, especially quarterback draws and a decent defense.  If Ithaca's linebackers are anything like Alfred's then the Bombers should be getting good field position most of the game.
