Yes.

This was in answer to Pep's question of whether Pat would pay $100/week to Pep's newspaper to publish the D3football.com Top 25.
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

Yes was in response to Pep, who asked me a direct question. You snuck in the middle.

I apologize again for not directly addressing Pep, but again, it's good to assume that not every post is directed toward you.
What did you call me??!!

Come on guys; let's discuss Pat in a positive way, sometimes kidding each other, with no disrespect.

The E8 boards are smokin'! On the contrary, Pep has those LL posters watching Alfred-Union football highlights from a game in November 1968.

;)

Hell Pep, at least we're smart enough not to partake in the "Endless Shrimp at Red Lobster", and somehow think that's a step above college cafeteria fare!

IN other news let's send some good vibes to Max's Fantasy baseball team, entering the final weekend ahead in the battle for the championship..... of the consolation bracket. This carries a prize of first pick in the '11 draft though, so no small potatoes!

I'm down by 4 in the finals of mine.  I snuck in with the 6 seed and started pummeling people in the playoffs.  Based on my pitching rotation, it looks like I should be a shoe-in minus some crazy blowups.

We've started talking about roster move limits in the playoffs, because a lot of teams do crazy ish... for instance, Max locked up the offensive categories long ago, so his opponent dropped half of his hitters for spot starters to try to get Ks and wins.... max should still be able to hold him off though, and with the full complement of offense (okay, so I dropped Carlos Ruiz, but i had to do something...)

Just need to add/replace a few categories so that there is no net gain from streaming.  Sure you can win two accumulating categories, but only at the expense of 3 ratios should be enough of a disincentive.  Even just replacing Ks with K/BB or K/9 will do it in traditional scoring.

Not a bad idea, but I think that places too much emphasis on relievers.

An innings floor can help with that. I was in a league where a guy just picked up a million relievers and won all the categories like saves, losses and walks because his guys were throwing 60 innings. But if you have either a weekly or yearly innings floor it can relieve those issues

We actually did a head to head, like football, format this year, where you get points for different results.  Like a single is 1, a double is 2, etc etc.  Pitchers really own the league though, but we set a 3 move per week limit, and 35 moves for the season limit which I hit about 2 months ago since I was fighting just to make the playoffs.

You play a different team each week with 1 score.  It was a lot more fun than roto or head to head with categories(I thought anyway)

Yeah, if you do a moves limit, make sure it's realistic. I was in one that had a limit of 10 and, while it prevented streaming, you were really stuck if guys started getting hurt.

Yeah I thought 35 was even too low.  Streaming is fine if it's limited.  3 moves per week really cramped that.  You'd basically use them the last 3 days of week.

Actually, AU has "nipped" Fisher 3 out of the last 5 years.  I can't wait for October 23.

On Saxon Warriors!!

I think you can take the quotation marks of the word nipped considering those 3 wins were by a total of 12 points...

Can we get an official vote from the E8PP - Since those 3 wins were only by an average of 4 points, one of those should count as a win for Fisher, right?

Luckily for Cardinal fans, my college roommate is coming to Mayberry for the 10/23 clash (of the unbeatens?) and he has an horrendous record while attending Saxon games.  The good news for the Saxons, we have a chance against Ithaca this year!

Ha, nice one with the poll +K...

I know SJF lost, AU played great in those games and beat them straight up.  It's just that Tad put "nipped" in quotes like it wasn't the case and AU's wins were never in doubt...
