This, by the way, is not a shot at Ruffrage, who I really like.

That's good, those are dangerous with the lurkers we have around here....  :o

Bomber3 and I never agree on anything, but I'm not going to rip his brother. I would have said the same thing if it were...whoever else it is that runs kickoffs back.

Hey, bomber3, does he have another year of eligibility? He's missed tons of time due to injury. He going to go the grad school option like you?

But not only does he wear my lucky number, he's really good. He got wide open in the end zone twice on plays where Zappia was forced out of the pocket. One went for a TD, the other one Zappia missed him. The Bombers are all kind of loaded at the WR/TE position

Yeah, he's made some huge plays this year. The other guy is Andre Jamison.... how do you not know that? He's made some of IC's most exciting plays this year, including the deep catch today (which he had to come back for.... sheesh Zappia).

What does SJF do? Steal signs, or try to stop others?  ;D

They hold up towels over the people calling the plays...

Had too to keep IC from stealing signs a few years ago...
A former Bomber player who now coaches Hartwick's line was stealing Ithaca's signs and changing defensive formations after the signs came in .  Dick move...
Two things here...

1... you better be sure because you're singling somebody out and calling them a scumbag.  If you're not sure and just going off of non fact then you're the scumbag
2... happens all the time at every level

might have been a good throw... a lot of times thats on purpose.  QB over throws no chance for a catch... under throw... give him a chance

Uh, because heading into today, Jamison's stats were as follows:

1 carry, five yards. 2 catches, 14 yards, 7 kick returns, 162 yards.

The kid's clearly got talent, as we saw today, but 10 touches in four games resulting in 181 yards aint exactly gonna get on my radar screen, buddy  ;)

Wait a minute...maybe it wasn't Ruffrage...he hasn't been running them back all year. Ugh. Damn memory. Well, whoever it was, he lined up wrong.

That was underthrown, but still a nice play.

I don't know.... the one game I went to this year (Union) he made a nice run back. Took me back to the Crandall/Gordon days....

And that's like 23yds/kick return. not too shabby.

now that you mention it i have no idea what a good kick return average is...

Very worried about the Fisher game today. This is a program making game for UC, and I am sure Faggiano has told them to Utica. I don't think Fisher will be intimated though. I will take Fisher to pull away late and win 43-24.

but for the fumble out of the endzone in the 4th...you damn near nailed that prediction....it woulda been 42-24

theoriginalupstate

That was a very undisciplined effort by Fisher...

They won on sure talent and size alone from an offensive standpoint...

I really wouldn't have wanted to have seen what Utica could have done with their best WR playing tonight...

The SJF D failed to get pressure on Benkwitt tonight and it cost them.  He had a ton of time tonight and the run game out of the pistol offense gave SJF fits...

Going to need a heck of a lot better effort next week...

Kudos to Utica for playing a tough game, if they could get a defense they'd be really good...

Benkwitt and that offense is legit...

dewcrew88

So have they "arrived"? :)

I think Utica has made tons of progress. They'll upset one of the top empire eight teams.

fisheralum91

So now that I have slept on the Fisher win yesterday, I came away with a few things.
Our secondary needs to step it up.  They were killed yesterday and there was no secret to where the UC qb was goin to go.  Our pass rush was non existent and that is probably why UC was able to get so many decent pass plays.
Fishers O on the other hand looked good.  Only on a couple of occasions were they not on the same page.
There needs to be a big improvement on D in order to run the table in the E8.
That said- it ws a good win for Fisher.  Blaise really had his boys ready and if they get any D UC will be really tough to beat.

Now back to the comfort of Growney and IC.
Shore up the D and we should be in good shape!

PrideFan1

I'm definitely a little late on this but I was pretty impressed with Utica last night, at least offensively. If a couple of things went differently, we could be talking about a 5-0 Pioneer team. At this point I'll issue my official apology to UC for doubting them. Looking forward to watching them play on Alden Street in 2 weeks. Hey Pride!

theoriginalupstate

I wouldn't say Team Benkwitt has "arrived" yet, you still gotta take one of the top E8 teams down before you can say that you've arrived.

They're getting pretty damn close though.

Team Benkwitt is definitely going to make some noise in the next 2.5 years.

If Team Benkwitt can get that 7th win this year I think they can go to the ECAC's, that's going to be tough with the lack of Defense.

I didn't like the lack of pressure on Defense either, however Benkwitt was getting rid of the ball very quickly.  He read the D well and knew where he wanted to go with it.
