Yes Brennan was on that team.
Great All american- went to the Aztec bowl as well.

At the end of the year there are going to be many accolades for this offense.
No doubt about it.
one that sticks out is:
POY- Bailey
book it

If/when Fisher gets the AQ (by beating Alfred), Bailey is the easy choice for POY.  The only one that can even come close to catching him is Secky...

Bailey is POY regardless. A 25/5 TD/INT ratio and 286 yards per game vs. 13/9 and 233 with identical comp %'s? And we're calling this a debate? Benkwitt's having a better year than Secky. Heck, Zappia's not that far off from him. The completion percentage is much worse, but the interception total is much lower and the yardage total is identical.

Secky's the third best QB in the conference right now. Bailey is the clear player of the year.

I am not disagreeing...the only reason I am not announcing him as the winner yet is because there is still a few football games left to play.  What happens if Alfred runs the table in the E8 (which includes beating SJF), and then SJF gets upset again by Springfield?  It's really, really unlikely that will happen...but if the above scenario occurs, and Secky has ridiculous numbers the rest of the way, and Bailey (as unlikely as it would be) tails off and has average stats in two conference losses...who would you vote for then?

Just saying...that's all.  My vote today is easily Bailey...but there is still a ton of football left.  When (if) Bailey and SJF beat Alfred...you can pretty much call the guy that engraves the POY trophy and make sure that he spells Bailey with an "e"...

My vote would still be Bailey. At worst, he's going to have a dozen more touchdowns and he'll throw around 5-6 fewer interceptions. And even with a game in hand for Secky, the final yardage totals won't be close. And the records will probably be similar. The H2H is only a tiebreak if it's close, in my mind. This isn't If Bailey never threw another TD and Secky never threw another pick, Bailey's numbers would still be better at the end of the year. And what about Benkwitt?

It's all good.  Like I said...one more win, and Bailey can etch his name on the trophy...and pretty much already has at this point.  Personally, Secky is the only player that can even possibly catch Bailey...and I would put those odds are somewhere around 50:1.

Benkwitt has had a good season...no question.  But where he falls short is his numbers against league competition thus far, where he is only averaging 229 yards, 1 x TD, and 1 x INT per game.  Plus, about 1/3 of his yards (633 of 1900+) and TD's (6 of 18) come against Becker and Castleton State.  Additionally...Utica still hasn't beaten a good team yet this year (or ever).

I'm assuming that's probably what it was too, no worse than a drunk college kid...  But after he approached that woman's car, I guess you really don't know what he's capable of if you let him walk home haha

Yea right.  And how many athletes get away with stuff just because they are athletes?  Let's let him go just because he is a punter for the Colts?  Or better yet, let's give him a ride home?!?

Secky is having a down year in regards to turnovers.  I think the loss of Manzer may have something to do with that.

I'm not taking any disrespect to the Fisher comments.  I guess I just dont feel like that are substantially different (simply from what I've experienced) than Fisher teams in the past, that's all.  They very well could be, no doubt about that.  But like I said.  Fisher usually romps people anyways and lately they've really given it to Ithaca.  So I guess I haven't seen a proving ground for this years team, that's all I'm saying.

Then again, losing to RPI maybe could be Alfred's proving ground.  I dont know.  I just keep hearing how incredible Fisher's offense is and I think it's very realistic that they could have a bad game or be held back from the success they've seen in past games.  That's all. I'm trying to be realistic, not saying it is 100% going to happen.  Just saying I think its possible. Offense is spotty deal.  Execution is vital and 1 or 2 negative plays on offense could set the tone for the whole game.

right and right...hope you are wrong, but this is how AU would win this game if they do...and we all know they are capable of beating SJF.

I cannot however envision AU holding SJF to under 20...I think AU can win with your proposed gameplan while surrending 25-29 pts though.  Its all relative....you are assuming that a low scoring affair is 13 pts, while holding SJF offense to 25 IS a low scoring affair for them

I am too, the past two seasons I was hyping him up big time.  I really thought he could have been one of the best QBs this region has seen but this past year has kind of put a damper on things.

Is it the loss of Manzer or is he forcing it too much trying to make plays?

I think its might be a little combination of the both.  I think because he lost Manzer, he's forced to take a more chances with the ball.  Where as with Manzer, you could get with short dump offs and he could take is 70 yards or at least get that little extra for a first down.  The kid was truly special on the field and knew how to make plays.  Not saying the guys there now don't, I still think Ryan Thon is the best receiver I ever played with, but there are certain things that Manzer did that I'm sure he even suprised himself with.  Coach Puccio always told us that when a little spark is needed, get the ball into the hands of the guys that will make plays.  Let them make something with it.  I think in that sense, Manzer may have been the been the best at it the E8 has seen in a longggg time.  With Manzer, unconventional could work.
