OK...forget the death match...let's just call Manzer the best play-maker....and Robinson the best football player, or MVP....and move on...to something else....like.....

Anyways though, I gotta head home from work for the day.  Cook up some dinner and call it a day.  I'll be back on tomorrow.  Upstate, 82, and Maxpower, thanks for having a good discussion on the board.  Wish I could stick around longer.  Always good to have some good discussions on here.  Makes me wish I was still playing.

Nothing like a good and civil football discussion to end the day...

WOW...I take a short trip to the doctor and a great conversation really heats up. Sorry I missed it, but great thoughts on all fronts. I don't know who I agree with, but I think I am more comfortable saying Garcon is the best football player the league has seen (He is in the NFL). I hear what Saxon 8 is saying with Manzer being all over the field, but I think Boltus would be the most feared player in the E8. Robby and Manzer are both great, but I think we are missing the two best playmaker/players/whatever you want to call them.

It is a fascinating debate.

What I like about a vote for Chris Sharpe was that you just never knew exactly what to fear.... the other guys were probably better players, and probably more daunting, but Sharpe's ability to totally F up defenses and leave fans (and coaching staffs) not sure what to expect on Saterday was pretty exciting...

OK...so that is 2 votes for Sharpe (in one of my posts earlier, when I was jumping from Manzer to Robby and back to Manzer, I mentiioned Sharpe)

...logical conclusion...we need a poll up here for all to vote to settle the debate....problem remains is what is the definition of a 'playmaker'...we might need a separate poll to decide that 1st :D...

I think we all agree though that a playmaker is something different than just being the best and most dominating player at your position, like Robby was...but taking into account, at the same time, that a player like Robby was also a playmaker because he could change a game, put a team on his back and/or go for 80yds by breaking a couple tackles....does that make sense?

#39580
would this be our list...

Sharpe QB
Boltus QB
Garcon WR
Manzer WR/DB/KR
Robinson RB
(insert IC player here)
(insert UC player here)...or not ;)

I don't know if IC's had a player on that level... closest might be Felicetti? Donovan? Some defensive backs I can't remember right now.... I've only been following since '03 so take that with a grain of salt. IC was a pretty complete team all-around in the middle 2000s.

I would take Felicetti if I was starting a team, but I don't like the triple option offense, so I am not the best person to ask. It is hard to believe that IC hasn't had one really great player on the level of the guys we have listed, but I guess it is true.

It was around when I got to Fisher in 2002...
