Now that the sting has worn off, I still can't believe the fly reverse pass by Thon...

That was the play of the game, it totally changed the momentum and deflated SJFs hopes...

It sent SJF a message that no matter what they did, AU had an answer and was two steps ahead of them

It was great timing on the play call and and excellent execution...

Fisher was utterly outcoached and outplayed...and that play merely summed it all up.

Is that something we should look at for Play of the Week?

I wouldn't mind seeing it again, but I don't know how spectacular it was.  More an indictment of the overpursuit on D than a truly great play.

I agree with Kaz00 on that one...It was a big play and the defense definitely bit, but it wasn't spectacular.  Great throw though I must say.

Oh and my final reason why that game left me feeling so sad -  It was the first time I had to watch Fisher lose in almost a year (364 days to be exact).  They had ripped off 10 wins in a row and hadn't lost since...well since the Alfred game last year.  After the game I thought "Oh that's right!  This is what it feels like to lose."  I can only imagine what teams like Mount Union and UWW feel after they lose once every 27 years.

Boobs and Kaz are right...

It wasn't a "spectacular" play in and of itself but considering the situation and the way it caught the D off guard it was a great play...

Is there a team in the E8 who isn't someone's *****? I don't think there's any team that hasn't struggled against someone. That's parity for ya

ok, now that i have backed away from the ledge, it was nice to hear that if Fisher wins out they would be a "lock" to get a pool c.
that au loss hit me hard boys- sorry that you had to see mister negativity saterday, but i was amped for that game!!
All I can say is that Frostburg hit Fisher at a really bad time...

where is that coming from?  I thought gordonmann's opinion is only 1 E8 team is getting in.

I took it as Gordon saying the other E8 team would be in Ohio playing against Ohio Northern...could be wrong though.  If Fisher wins out they would certainly have a strong case to be in the dance.

boobyhasgameyo

Also if Fisher beats Springfield and Ithaca defeats Alfred (both not sure things but definitely possible) Fisher would receive the automatic bid if I am understanding it correctly.  So then we wouldn't have to worry.

But hey if Fisher were to be shipped to another region I personally think it would be fun to see...aside from the traveling that is.

SJF beating a SC team that will probably end up 7-3 will go a long ways to boosting their chances of getting a Pool C...

One thing is certain, no way a 2 loss team makes it.  AU either wins the conference or they're out and IC is out unless they and Utica beats AU....

If you go to the Pool C board in the General Football section there's plenty of one loss teams that can be considered for a Pool C bid...

Usee points out that...

Quote from: USee on October 25, 2010, 02:34:04 PM
According to Pat/Keith, the current possible Pool C teams in order (based on Strength of Schedule numbers) are:

Ohio Northern
Rowan
Wheaton (assume 9-1)
Coe
Redlands
St Johns Fisher
Bethel
Hardin Simmons
Pac Lutheran
Baldwin Wallace (in case they shock the world in week 10)
Central
Randolph Macon

What's distinctly possible this year (as opposed to years past) is that several 9-1 teams may not get into the playoffs. Heading that possible list would be North Central should they lose to Wheaton. NCC's SOS numbers are signifcantly below anyone on this list (which currently has more names than Pool C slots available). What's also worth mentioning is the fact that this list will likely both expand and contract each week as teams lose and drop off  and other undefeateds join this group.

Yeah it would be interesting to see where they are put if they get one...

SJF can not make a mistake vs SC...

SJF has had SC's number, I'm sure SC would love to ruin SJF's playoff hopes...
