Just snuck on to listen Pat,
I thinkill have to thank Keith!!
7 sounds much better!
Hope they live up to that SatErday!

Nah- no hoping-they will- and more!

Not to draw any attention to it, but 19 is the cursed spot.  Alfred lost last week and Wabash the week before.  These things come in 3s you know...

Just remembered this while reading through the Fan Top 25 board.  I'm certainly glad Alfred ended up in 20th on this week's Top 25!
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

Pick ems are updated...

Three way tie between Old IC, Booby and the new guy who decided to show up 7 weeks in...

Some big spreads this week since the traditional powers are all at home (AU, SJF, IC, SC)...

One thing is certain, no way a 2 loss team makes it.  AU either wins the conference or they're out and IC is out unless they and Utica beats AU....

Doesn't IC make it if they win the last two conference games and Springfield beats Fisher? I don't think the Utica/AU game has anything to do with it. In that scenario, IC would have the H2H with every team but a two-conference loss Fisher...

Good chatter guys... except one thing: there is a politics board. Use it, and spare the rest of us.

Yep, the politics board has become Tea Party heaven - it is basically 20+ of them against poor, little ol' me, and I don't show up very often anymore! ;D

Good catch...

The AU/UC game is irrelevant...

AU can lose the UC game and beat Ithaca and still win the E8 with the head to head over SJF...

The 6th will be interesting. Alfred-Ithaca and Fisher-Springfield may decide the conference (provided IC doesn't lost to Utica)

BTW, would Wick be the only E8 team that wouldn't roll into the playoffs in the LL? Ye Gods...

OK here is how I see the Pool C scenario playing out.  I think the E8 definitely gets two teams in and a case could be made for 3 teams to get a pool C bid (yes, Ithaca).  If Ithaca wins out they would go 8-2 (with one loss coming without their (future) all time leading receiver, preseason all american tight end, etc), they currently have the 12th toughest schedule in the nation, and their remaining opponents are a combined 17-4.  It is quite possible that Ithaca could have a top 5 SOS in the nation (Alfred could too if they didn't play cupcake UR).  With the Empire 8 rated one of the top conferences in the nation (was ranked 5th out of 27) the Bombers would be 5-1 in conference.  if they win out its possible they would have beaten 3 conference champions along the way too (Alfred, Cortland, St. Lawrence). I know 8-2 teams don't get pool C bids often but the Bombers could possibly have one of the strongest cases ever for one.

Damn, Cortaca would be fun with a 7-2 Bombers and 8-1 Cortland squad both battling for their pool C lives...

I know it is a long ways away though especially with Utica pumped up for this game this week.  I don't know UC's coach very well but I don't think its a coincidence their bye is a week before Ithaca.  They've had this game circled for a year and probably should have beaten IC last year. IC struggles against pass-happy teams (see second half vs Hartwick, Fisher) and thrive against the run (lowest rush ypg in the conference; see Union, Springfield).  Utica is a pass-first pass-second team and I can see them giving IC's secondary fits.   IC is going to have to put up 28-31 to win and hopefully White/Conti can snap a couple picks...

No chance a 2 loss team gets in...

There's a chance that several 1 loss teams get left out...

Ithaca either wins the E8 somehow or they're out...

There's no debate about it...

Agree - there are too many auto bids and so little C and B bids, teams that are 9-1 will likely be SOL.

That said, I'd love to see IC and Hobart go at it in an ECAC game....anyone?

I've said numerous times, Coach Murray is the closest thing to a high school coach on the college level that I've ever seen.  He seems to know his players like he's been working with them since they were in kindergarten.  He is concerned with them as people, not just as football players.  My wife and I can't thank him enough for the help he gave to both of our sons.  Congratulations AU and finish strong!

Figured Tad, Kaz and Pep might get a kick out of this...

I've been talking with Pecoraro while he's down in Arizona for the Border Patrol.  He's stationed in Tuscon.  Guess he went out for a drink one night and ran into AU alum's Chris Fee (who played at St. Lawrence then GA'd at AU) and Chris Sarge.  Guess they are both teaching down there and coaching a high school or middle school football team...  Crazy small world but now AU has a strong Southwestern presence...

I was in Arizona last week.  Got a chance to see Chris Fee(head coach),Chris Sargent(defensive coordinator) and (Nick?) Pecoraro (asst coach) all in action.  They are coaching at Sahuarita High School.  The temp was 90+ every day.  I think I could get used to that!

Yeah, home field would decide that one...

I'd rather see Ithaca at Mt. Ida.
