One more thing. It looks like the lack of a bye week is starting to catch up with Fisher a little bit. Borum did not play again today, and Ryan Francis was out with a walking boot on in the second half today. Hopefully it is nothing serious, but did they mention anything on the radio, or does anyone know what is going on with either of them. Fisher looked good on offense today but I think they are really missing Borum, because it forces Kramer to play RB rather than be a slash type player.

SJF was also w/o starting DT Adam Kinney as well...

I agree with you about the Borum injury kind of limiting the role Kramer can play...

He's good at RB but it kind of takes a chunk out of the passing game...

Also, how fast was the offense today in terms of no huddle?  It seemed as though they were full go all day today...

Fisher's offense was much quicker today. The play clock rarely got below 20 (if it went below 25). It really looked like  the Frostburg LB's just could not shift. They were trying to read the Fisher formation and shift early, but they just stopped and lined up as best they could, and tried to adjust as the play developed.
GO FISHER!!!

Yes, I'm serious.  If this team goes 8-2 who says they can't get in.  The 2008 team got in with two losses.  I know other things have to fall in place but I've stated before that with their schedule they deserve a bid if they go 8-2.  Winning 80% of your games (including possibly beating 3 conference champions) with a top 10 in the nation SOS would warrant an at large bid. They also have a shot at the league AQ if Springfield wins @ Fisher and IC beats Alfred.  So yes dude, seriously.

Unfortunatley I don't see a chance for IC this season.  Too many 9-1 teams will be fighting for those 6 Pool C's.  Salisbury barely lost to Wesley today and is likely SOL at 8-2.

Outside of an AQ I don't think Ithaca has a chance.  I don't think a 2 loss eastern team would go.

EVEN THOUGH THEY LOST TO RPI AND ROCHESTER..... >:( ???

only thing more embarrassing is losing to the team that loses to RPI and UR!

wait, only thing more embarrassing than THAT is losing to THAT team! and then IC gets into the picture. Thanks AU, for making the whole E8 look bad :)

Springfield will have lost to both of them. Fail Pride!

SC cannot win E8 at this point correct...if they beat SJF and IC beats AU, then IC wins 3 way between IC-SC-AU (assuming AU beats UC)...man this stuff hurts my pea-brain....just bring on MUC.... :(

It would not be a three way tie...

In that scenario, Fisher would have two conference losses. IC and Alfred would have one. Two-way tie, Ithaca wins the head to head

Yeh...I didnt have SJF in the 3 way tie under that scenario...I had AU-SC-IC...but I guess I was incorrect about SC, because they have 2 conf losses already...AU and IC?

You are misunderstanding your own optimism...IC gets in by beating AU, and SJF losing to SC thereby claiming the E8.

They have 0....check that, >0% chance of getting an at large bid at 8-2...

I was at Growney today. Fisher won pretty easily, and had a ton of offense in the first half, but it was still a little sloppy. Turnovers and penalties, but the game was never really in doubt. Good win, and hopefully they can be ready for SC next week. They need to play better to beat SC, but I am sure they will be ready to go.

The AU loss got a cheer at Fisher, but it really does nothing for us. Correct me if I am wrong but if IC beats AU, then Fisher gets in with a 3 way tie (AU, IC, SJF)? If AU loses to both then Fisher gets in with the AQ over IC. IF AU beats IC and loses to UC AU is in over Fisher. And, if AU wins both they are in over Fisher? I think that is how it works.

One more thing. It looks like the lack of a bye week is starting to catch up with Fisher a little bit. I think you were correct on the play-off scenario, except there is no scenario where it comes down to the AU-UC game...that is because if AU wins next week it is over, and if they lose next week it is also over by either SJF beating SC (SJF wins it), or BY IC taking it by virtue of a 2 way tiebreaker over AU (and a SJF loss of course).  IC's season is over next week and they would finish 5-1 in E8 with win next week

Yeh...I didnt have SJF in the 3 way tie under that scenario...I had AU-SC-IC...but I guess I was incorrect about SC, because they have 2 conf losses already...AU and IC?

Yup...here are the remaining scenarios best I can see...

1) Alfred wins out = They're in

2) Alfred beats IC, loses to Utica, Fisher beats Springfield = Alfred gets in via the H2H with Fisher

3) IC beats Alfred, Springfield beats Fisher = IC gets in via H2H with Alfred

4) IC beats Alfred, Fisher beats Springfield, Utica beats Alfred = Fisher gets in via H2H with IC

5) IC beats Alfred, Fisher beats Springfield, Alfred beats Utica = Fisher gets in with one overall loss

I think that covers everything?

SJFF82

AU's loss only operated to weaken SJF's shot at a 9-1 at large bid if AU wins out.  They needed AU to lose to IC next week with or without the UR loss today.

good summary for all to read...just one clarification.

The E8 is so damn predictable...SJF whacks IC...AU whacks SJF....AU whacks off instead of showing up to play Rochester...IC whacks off on AU....MUC gets shipped to East....SEASON OVER!

Ok, for accuracy's sake,

1) It was the 2007 team that got in with two losses...and moving to your point

2) The Bombers will not have beaten three conference champions. They will have beaten two, one of which went 6-4 on the season, which isn't impressive to anyone.

I just really dont get it... Alfred, the defending E8 Champions beat SJF handily and yet they still get no respect? Like come on!! What has SJF done that's so great this year? Why does the fan polls think that SJF should still be higher than AU? An RPI loss? Who cares!! AU is undefeated in the E8, they just beat Fisher, and they are still behind them in the fan polls...

It's just ridiculous.  I have A LOT of respect for SJF but when is AU going to finally get the respect that they deserve?

...and tarnish their perfectly fine Rodney Dangerfield image? No way! Let the polls be as they may. Don't get your jock strap in a knot, AS8. The only thing that matters is what happens on the field.

Now Pep was thinking....Rochester beat Worcester Tech, Worcester Tech beat RPI, RPI beat Alfred....then UR could very well hand the Saxons their second loss of the season.

Pep the prognosticator.   Well done!

Consider that every week I've done this, the #1 team has lost. In other words, I'm cursing the CRAP out of Mount Union.

1) MU
2) DelVal
3) NJAC champ (whoever it is)
4) ???
5) E8 champ
6) SUNY Maritime
7) NEFC Champ
8) St. Lawrence

Last teams out: #3 in NJAC, Lycoming, IC

To be totally honest, I don't know what the tiebreaker procedure is in the NJAC. And also, to be totally honest, I can't make a decision on which of the three teams (Rowan, C-State, Montclair) would be left out if the postseason started now. Obviously, if C-State was to make it four losses in a row against my Bombers at Cortaca, that would make the decision very easy. :)

In other headlines, Maritime gained some more respect in my book. Norwich isn't great, but they beat St. Lawrence and can run the ball.

SJF aint on top of the E8...

SJFF82

Two SJF fans text exchange this afternoon...

"Montclair lost...any chance MUC doesnt get shipped East?"

"Yeh...if they lose"

"Oh...what about Del Val?"

"Doubt it even with only loss being to Wesley"

"Ok...then wouldn't it be poetic justice for Bailey to end his career where it started?"

"Where????  On his back in Alliance?"

"Wow"
