to whom are you referring?

Upstate.  He doesn't need to go bashing other teams because his team didn't make the playoffs and allowed 55 points today.

Hey, just because I said Congrats and don't embarrass yourself doesn't constitute me being bitter...

Someone throws a jab I'm going to throw one back...

Upstate is a bitter man.

Sorry I don't like it when other teams cant win a playoff game vs Curry (twice) and a lower seeded Albright team...

Sounds like your problems could be solved by your team making the playoffs.

Pep is excited and pleasantly surprised that the Saxons will make back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Championships as the Empire 8 AQ. AU this season overcame the Mandrix Factor and found the real deal with Austin Dwyer, as was exhibited today. While Thon certainly is the go-to receiver, Secky has been able to spread it around and hit paydirt today with McCloud, who Pep thought could give AU a deep threat this year.

A long-time Saxon observer (and one of AU's All-Americans) told Pep yesterday that the Saxons would have a shot at the game today because they tend to play at the level of their competition.

As always, Ithaca is a class act and a solid team. After the difficult first quarter, IC settled down and played well, keeping Pep and 'z00 looking at the clock, hoping the Saxons could hang on. Best of luck to the Bombers next week at Cortaca.

Pep is hoping there's no let down and the Saxons build some momentum going into the playoffs. While a home game would be nice, Pep is expecting, as one poster suggested, that we should "load up the bandwagon," and will follow the Saxons wherever they go. The losses to RPI and UR likely cost the Saxons a home game but both teams are proving to be more formidable than once thought. That's behind us now...let's load up the 'wagon and hit the road...and fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

On Saxon Warriors!

You're on a high horse considering a week ago you'd given up on a team that hasn't won an NCAA playoff game in...how long?

And now you'll come back with something like "Scoreboard," "Curry" "No NCAA wins of your own since 2003" and we'll keep going all night.

Smart thing to do might just be to just enjoy your time at the top. It's not like anyone has really differentiated themselves from the pack, so just enjoy your victory and get ready for the NCAA's

I'm not really on a high horse, just tired of whining!  Maybe we get our butts kicked in the first round, but if someone is so concerned about E-8 performance in the playoffs, then make the playoffs.  I think that is a reasonable observation.

That's funny because I remember you doing the exact same thing last week...

AU has never won an NCAA playoff game. And AU, before this year, had never (on the field) beaten both Fisher and Ithaca in the same season, although, in the books, the 1995 squad did so.

So yeah, maybe we just say congrats to Alfred and quit comparing NCAA legacies?

And isn't it a "reasonable observation" to say that Alfred has contributed a fat load of nothing on the national scale and the same fans that had given up on them a week ago are now upset that other people aren't effusive with praise for their team?

I don't care if anyone praises us.  I mentioned no such thing.  So on that point I have no idea what you are talking about.  And I don't know what we are supposed to contribute on the national scale(?).  I'm not sure what you are getting at there unless it was another Alfred poster who was wondering about our lack of national recognition.  I purposely avoided that whole discussion
