I couldnt believe the game plan of Hartwick runnning the ball all over the place. 
Utica had a lot of promise this year... I mean they were considered a titan at one point

Are you ready for another potential enigma again as Alfred travels to Chucky G. Stadium on saterday?  

As I've stated ad nauseum before on these boards, I felt like this year's Saxons were going 7-3.  However, I did not expect that 7-3 could be enough for a return to the playoffs.  And after all those years going to an ECAC bowl and hearing fans from other teams saying how they would prefer to lose in the first round of the playoffs than win an ECAC game, even if Alfred loses their next two games they will still have surpassed my expectations on the year (though I'd be admittedly disappointed with how the season ended).

Def. and odd year up to this point... all around NY and NJ

I did say that it wouldnt surprise me if they knocked off an E8 contender.
Why im shocked is because of the ease in which Fisher steamrolled Wick and had a hell of a time with UC.
Thats it.

Glad that my first trip back to AU was to see a Saxon victory... Especially since it was against IC...

Definitely a strange year with St. Lawrence getting the bid at 4-5.  It's funny that St. Lawrences achilles seemed to be the E8 this year while AU's achilles was the LL...

So what are the thoughts on the playoff matchups? Obviously a week early but any predictions out there?

As long as an E8 team doesn't lose to an NEFC team, I will be pretty happy.

It's all good...I just think for whatever reason...rivalry, match-ups, etc...Wick does well against Utica. 

Like I stated all year, I think Utica is moving in the right direction, and quickly.  But you have to beat good teams, and teams within your own conference before really going out there and telling everyone how good you are, or how close you are to making the playoffs or arriving as a "power".  I mean, take Norwich out of the equation, and Utica is 1-23 in the E8 over the past 5 seasons with one more game to play this year against the E8 Champs (Alfred).

It just felt like last year all over again...UC blasts a couple inferior opponents early, plays some good teams tough, announces their arrival on the E8 scene and even compares themselves to IC and SJF, and then proceeds to lose every single conference game and finish in last place again.

I will wait anxiously for the same type of talk when UC puts up 80 and 60 on Becker and Castleton State again early next season...

The fact that Becker, Castleton State and Anna Maria appear on their schedule at all tells you a lot about them. Look, I applaud what Utica's done as a program, and we all schedule some dodgy OOC teams, but those three teams are all pretty much the worst of the worst (although Castleton may have made some strides this season in a Hartwick, every game is 35-37 kind of way) If you're looking for respect, challenge yourself. At least schedule OOC's teams that have a fighting chance. But those types of games are glorified practices and if a team still feels the need to put them on the schedule, it must be for a reason. I think there's nothing wrong with wanting to finish with a winning record and go to an ECAC game but there's nothing to be gained from those games

The thing that got me was not only did the local media drink the UC kool aid, but some gurus on here did as well.
it was a bit contagious.

Man took me a while to catch up on the posts but no love for 91 on here! Whats up with that?

One of the great things about this board is that people can be overly critical of their teams performance.  Its what separates the true fans from the warm weather fans.  

He's absolutely right to be disappointed in the Fisher season.  I mean come on, they were putting up crazy points and went from playing for the E8 championship, to playing for a Pool C bid, to playing for some ECAC game.  I would be incredibly disappointed too!

You guys make it seem like he was rambling on about some crap team that should be lucky to be a ECAC contender.  

Let's put it in perspective.  Notre Dame sucks. The Bills suck.  The Sabres suck.  My whole sports world is revolving around Saxon football right now.  I would imagine it would be the same for 91 (obviously in favor of Fisher though) so it's definitely a huge disappointment for the Fisher faithful...

Def not... type away..it is a discussion board and meant for opinions right?.  In regards to backing off... maybe youre a bit too close I mean people are talking about losing Karma like taking a bullet... And the Utica thing I was mocking a TV announcer that had said a clash of the titans was upcoming in regards to a game that featured utica a few months back... thats all... so just a bit of satire
