Good morning all:

I was thrilled (and chilled) at Cortland yesterday.  Now on to Alliance.  A seemingly impossible task.  But there is always a lingering question in the back of my weary brain:  Is it possible?  Is this question as nutty as it looks when I read it?

Possible? Of course it's possible; there will only be two teams on the field and Alfred is one of them. Stranger things have happened in the world of sports.
Now if you had asked if it was probable, I would have had to say that the question was as nutty as squirrel poop.
Nevertheless, good luck to the Saxons in Alliance.

Yes...But that is what makes being a Fan so much fun. The first year Fisher went to Alliance to play MUC I was asking the same question. No one has to believe but the team and the fans. Go get em next weekend. Make the E8 proud.

Congrats on the win on SatERday. I was not able to make the game, but I heard from some boys at the bar that AU was the better team. I thought AU would beat Cortland after I watched C-State play last week, but it is still a great win for AU. Keep it going.

For all the Alfred fans coming to Alliance...you will be sitting in the east stands so be prepared to dress warm as there is no cover from the wind.

Have a safe trip!

I will not be able to make it, but it is hard to imagine it being as cold and WINDY as it was in Cortland on Saterday!!

Yes, E8 posters are apt to spell it "Saterday" in "honor" of an overzealous Alfred player who, several years ago, got on the boards and made a post in which he misspelled both "excited" (exited) and "Saturday" (Saterday).

So how does AU stay with Mount next weekend? They will obviously have their hands full, but if MUC is ever going to be beat by someone not named UWW, can this be the year?

AU stays with Mount by:
1) AU's O line giving Secky the time to have the game of his life, cancelling out CS III's big game, maybe opening up the running game for Dwyer et al.
2) AU's D holding Murray to < 150 yds and no TD's.
3) Capitalizing on crazy bounces and turnovers.
4) Mount having an inexplicable letdown on both sides of the ball.

Far fetched, but fun to contemplate.

I believe the turning point in this game will be when Mount's marching band members, angered over Pep & Zoo's attempt to show them up, charge the visitor stands where a full-blown melee breaks out, and the referees decide the only way to settle this ugliness is a fight song throw-down.   8-)

There is always a chance my friend. That's why games are played on the field. Anything can happen.

Congrats to the Saxons on a fine season. Enjoy the ride and for those who are coming to Alliance, welcome and safe travels.

C-3PKaz00: Sir, the possibility of successfully navigating a win at Mount Union is approximately 3,720 to 1.
