Is there anyone from Alfred coming to the game who would be interested in trading an Alfred hat or t-shirt for a Mount Union hat or t-shirt?  I have been trading for the last several years and am looking to expand my collection--PM me if you are interested.  I've traded with Cortland, Christopher Newport, Bridgewater, UWWW, etc.

Whoa.... that is cool.

Yeah...That really is a great idea.
GO FISHER!!!

Alfred fans...there is a Holiday Inn, Hotel 8 on State Street (Route 62) and a Comfort Inn at the Carnation Mall (also on State Street but the Inn is in back). And along State St. there a number of good places to eat.

Since playing on the road is tough and I have not seen Alfred play all I can go by is the stats. Alfred certainly looks like they can hang with Mount. What intangibles you guys brings only you know. I can say this...since 1993 Mount has only lost 5 home games which is one of our intangibles...home sweet home.

I heard since 1993, the Mount Union campus has seen 3 1/2 girls with both legs, both arms, 2 boobs, and no missing teeth...

Good luck to Alfred this weekend!

Dlip,
Most of the Fisher faithful had this years team running the table or having a single loss.
As you stated- the AU and SC losses in retrospect werent bad losses- But a win in either puts them into the dance.
Who knows where that would have led them----to Alliance again?
Dunno, What i do know is that there are major holes to fill next year- and it may be a while before we get another chance like we had this year.

Thinking about the conference big picture, it seems like Alfred, with Secky and Dwyer, are the clear front-runners. Springfield might be the #2, but does anyone know who they lose?

Judging by some of the things people say, Fisher is losing some talent, so they're probably #3, ahead of an Ithaca team they own. Utica and the Wick round it out. And my stance on Utica will remain the same until they prove they can compete with the big boys.

Way too early 2011 prediction:

1. Alfred
2. Springfield
3. Fisher
4. Ithaca
5. Utica
6. Team Bolutus

labart96

Who is Fisher losing aside from Bailey (who is a big loss, no doubt)?

I recall seeing a bunch, if not almost all, JRs on Fisher's starting roster when they played Hobart.  QB is a big question mark, but I was under the impression the Cardinals are returning almost their entire team in 2011.

I don't disagree with your predictions, but didn't Utica show that they can atleast compete with the big boys this year?  With that QB only being a sophomore, i'm interested to see what they can do next year.  And their RB was a So. and 2 top receivers were Jr.'s.  They could put up some serious points next year.

If they open with Becker again, we could see 100 points...  :-)

Well, true, I suppose I should have said "beat". Although, one of the things I didn't like about Utica was they closed the season very poorly. After basically playing a good Springfield team to a draw and playing Fisher tough, they really seemed to fade.

They played horridly at what turned out to be a not good Ithaca team, lost to a mediocre Hartwick and gave up 35 straight points in falling apart against Alfred. One of the things I like to see from a team is a strong finish. The offense that looked so potent in the early season fizzled completely, and averaged just 14 PPG in their last four games. Doesn't leave a good taste in my mouth

While Fisher brings back quite a few at wr and rb, the o and d lines lose a ton.
They will need help there plus at QB.  Replacing Bailey will be really tough not to mention the line that protected him for 4 years.

Actually, this is a scene in Alliance/UMU during the spring of the year......it's quite a pretty area.

I am guessing competing against E8 schools instead of ECFC powerhouses Becker and Castleton State had something to do with it.  I am not willing to say their offense is that great...yet.  They have a lot of the right pieces in place...but bottom line is they ran roughshot against a couple of terrible non-conference opponents (RPI, Wilkes, and SLU were OK) and averaged 46.8 points per game while not in the E8...and only average 17.4 PPG against their E8 opponents (with their highest total being 24 against SJF).  I think Utica is moving in the right direction, but like Bombers said, you have to actually beat someone in your league before you can gain any type of respect.  Sure...they can compete with everyone, which is a great step for them.  But when you are 1-24 in the league (not including any games against Norwich here) over the past 5 years, you aren't really going to scare anyone.

No...they didn't.  They haven't won a conference game over the past two years.  Only win in conference, outside of any Norwich games, in the past 5 years is when they beat Springfield 16-12 back in 2008.
