Alfred fans...there is a Holiday Inn, Hotel 8 on State Street (Route 62) and a Comfort Inn at the Carnation Mall (also on State Street but the Inn is in back). And along State St. there a number of good places to eat.

Since playing on the road is tough and I have not seen Alfred play all I can go by is the stats. Alfred certainly looks like they can hang with Mount. What intangibles you guys brings only you know. I can say this...since 1993 Mount has only lost 5 home games which is one of our intangibles...home sweet home.

I heard since 1993, the Mount Union campus has seen 3 1/2 girls with both legs, both arms, 2 boobs, and no missing teeth...

You're a funny guy...but what does that have to do with football?

Football talk is completely optional over here in the East Region.

Speaking of football, I posted an overview of Alfred on the OAC board.

Pep/AUKaz - feel free to correct/edit as necessary but I generally went based on stats.

good luck SatERday....

Not a damn thing.  But how do you talk smack to Mount Union about football?  You gotta use some imagination.

I'll be listening in.  LD travels for no one.

TGP--thanks for the scoop on Alfred--+K for you--

Safe travels to all--the offer is still out there for a t-shirt or hat trade.  Let me know.

A group of Mount fans will be gathering at the Wing Warehouse on Friday evening--we would welcome any Alfred fans making the trip.  We are actually a pretty friendly group and would love to share stories with any fans that are traveling this way--we can even be kid friendly, if we have to.  WW is on State Street about 1.5 miles west of the stadium--it is very close to the Holiday Inn Express and Super 8 if you are staying in Alliance.  Look for the loud old guys dressed in PURPLE, black, and white.  I'm easy to spot--gray beard and long black pony tail--will probably be wearing a straw hat with a purple bandana for a headband.  Hope to see some of you there.
Reloading--Again, and again, and again....

Pep is thinking you'd really like a fashionable AU Pep Bandanna that the band sells for $5 a piece for fund-raising (gas money). Extremely versatile, it has served as a dog scarf, a "terrible towel" but most recently, as a face warmer, with Kaz00 looking more like a Pep Bandit at the Cortland game. You'll love the color and it would be a nice back-up for your purple bandanna.

In terms of Alfred's chances this weekend, I am realistic, its Mount Union. They are, well, Mount Union. However, that being said, Alfred is too good a football team to get embarrassed. They will lose but it will be the closest game UMU has played all year. I'll say 31-20 UMU

Thinking about the conference big picture, it seems like Alfred, with Secky and Dwyer, are the clear front-runners. Springfield might be the #2, but does anyone know who they lose?

Judging by some of the things people say, Fisher is losing some talent, so they're probably #3, ahead of an Ithaca team they own. Utica and the Wick round it out. And my stance on Utica will remain the same until they prove they can compete with the big boys.

Way too early 2011 prediction:

1. Alfred
2. Springfield
3. Fisher
4. Ithaca
5. Utica
6. Team Bolutus

Can't forget about the two new E8 teams next year.  I'd go with this order:

1. Alfred
2. Springfield
3. Salisbury
4. Fisher
5. Ithaca
6. Utica
7. Hartwick
8. Frostburg

I didn't realize Salisbury was joining the E8.  Gotta think they have a legit shot at contending for the title.

Im a little surprised at the love that SC is getting.
I know that they had a nice season, but those that have them coming in second in the conference- why?
Do they return a ton of starters?

Yeah, I have a tough time sorting out those top 3, but Alfred gets Springfield at home and since they had Frostburg at home this year, I assume they'll be down to MD for that game and host Salisbury.  So, I gave them the slight advantage ([sarcasm]plus they have two extra weeks of practice![/sarcasm]).
