So, you think Shorts will get double coverage, eh? Then who covers Collins, Brown, Mathie or Miller? Just asking.

The pep band, obviously!

With the weapons Mount Union has, I would suspect most teams would want to get pressure on the quarterback so that he can't connect with his receivers.  The last thing we'd want is a hot Seaman hitting Shorts or we'll have a mess on our hands.  Wait, that didn't come out quite right...

Probably not too different than the ones we used to hear in the Carolinas about former NASCAR driver Dick Trickle.   ;D

A shot of Penicillin should take care of that in a week to ten days.

Tried to respond earlier, but hit internet connectivity issues.

I'm pretty sure that in 39 states naming a kid 'Dick Trickle' is considered child abuse! ;D

KS is as usual spot on - that was essentially my post the first time I came across 'Spud Dick'.  Also reminded me tremendously of a British sausage call 'Spotted Dick' (no lie ;)) - who could avoid VD jokes?! :D

This is a classic post and should be put in some type of "East Region Post Hall of Fame."

I am deeply touched by the offer.  But I have to remain on the home front this weekend.  My ears will be glued to the radio via internet.  I will be there in spirit, however!!

On Saxon Warriors!!  I hope the team and the pep band give 'em hell!!

Thing is, I don't think that is enforceable for postseason games. This is the NCAA's game and the NCAA's right to distribute broadcast rights, not Mount Union's or Time Warner's.

Now, if Alfred was asking to use the Time Warner feed, that's another story -- obviously Time Warner controls its own product. But from what I have seen in dealing with the NCAA broadcast division over almost a decade is that if Alfred were to have wanted to produce its own video broadcast then Mount Union would have had no say whatsoever.

I don't know how accurate that statement is on Alfred's site. Could be misleading.

Good Luck to Alfred tomorrow! I'll be watching listening refreshing the d3football.com scoreboard!

Seriously though, good luck. The E8 has had two "good showings" against Mount (not counting the little drummer boy game). I think a third would help us all out in the "national respect" category.  ;)

Wow....Doid with some SERIOUS soccer conversation.....

Mike Toop would be kicking your ass up and down Nott Terrace for this indiscretion!!!

Remember, Doid's brothers both played college soccer, and I was known to instill some fear in the hearts of every Eddie Firmani Summer League team back in the day as a 295 lb sweeper. Every time the games got to rough, my brothers would insert me into the game to restore some law and order. Easily the most hated member of the league ever.

As to Tooper, you obviously don't recall the story of Shep and I going to his house for dinner one summer, and bringing young baby Clint Toop a soccer ball. Toop didn't say thank you, didn't even joke about it, just walked into the garage and threw the ball into a garbage can. Priceless.

+K  because this made me laugh!
