Their contract with Time Warner, which televises the games for delay broadcast, prohibits webcasts.
You wanna ride with the band, Tad?

Also gives future opponents free access to a game video.

So does video streaming, there is such a thing as taking paronia too far.

Good Luck to Alfred tomorrow! I'll be watching listening refreshing the d3football.com scoreboard!

Seriously though, good luck. The E8 has had two "good showings" against Mount (not counting the little drummer boy game). I think a third would help us all out in the "national respect" category.  ;)

That is what I meant.  Actually, SportsTime Ohio is the company that usually televises the Mount Union Home Games on Delay (not Live).  But, they haven't televised the playoff games this year.  Don't remember if they did in the past because Brighthouse Cable in Tampa doesn't carry STO.

Thing is, I don't think that is enforceable for postseason games. This is the NCAA's game and the NCAA's right to distribute broadcast rights, not Mount Union's or Time Warner's.

Now, if Alfred was asking to use the Time Warner feed, that's another story -- obviously Time Warner controls its own product. But from what I have seen in dealing with the NCAA broadcast division over almost a decade is that if Alfred were to have wanted to produce its own video broadcast then Mount Union would have had no say whatsoever.

I don't know how accurate that statement is on Alfred's site. Could be misleading.

This makes sense.

So, you think Shorts will get double coverage, eh? Then who covers Collins, Brown, Mathie or Miller? Just asking.

The pep band, obviously!

With the weapons Mount Union has, I would suspect most teams would want to get pressure on the quarterback so that he can't connect with his receivers.  The last thing we'd want is a hot Seaman hitting Shorts or we'll have a mess on our hands.  Wait, that didn't come out quite right...

Wow!  I don't think I want to touch that line with anything less than that TSA inspectors surgical gloves. ;D

+K for the effort though!

I think that since Mt Union has no live broadcast feed setup for their own use, that added people and equipment might pose a burden at this late date. I'm sure they offered the camera bay on top of the scoreboard  8-) :P ::) Actually, I think it goes back to no one bidding on the broadcast rights with the NCAA. (Read: No one paid the NCAA $1,000)

Truth is, the NCAA rules and reg's get so convoluted, involving everything from signs, to noisemakers, to number of cheerleaders, that it's hard to be as flexible as they could be during the conference schedule especially with the number of media folks crowding the press box

You can get the official word from the Mount Union SID over on our board. Some of the decision is related to State High School Finals down the road in Canton eating up the available resources and, of course, money, given the limited local audience for games against non-local opponents.

Mount has traditionally spent the money for professional videographers and avoided some of the pit falls of amateurish Internet streaming video.

Good luck to the Saxons on Saterday, a large task ahead of you, let's hope that you can shock the world (
(Which may entail losing 27-19, given the current state of affairs).

It's about time to meet up with Pep for our biggest gig ever!  Thanks for all your support, fellow E6ers.  And who knows, the Rangers never won a playoff series until this year when they took down my Yankees on the way to the Series.  A more apt analogy between Alfred and Mount Union would be hard to find.  Here's to hoping Tom Secky has a little Cliff Lee in him (or even some Colby Lewis)!

You mean Secky is going to leave Alfred after the season and join the Raiders?   ;)

Good luck and safe travels to all heading west.  For those stuck at home, you can catch Ric and I on the WDPN 1310 AM call here:  http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/muc.portal#

Since the boards are dead today, I'm going to say that this is bull****. I don't want to hear one thing about how D3 is about the "love of the game" when teams are depriving fans of watching on TV because they don't want UWW to find out everything they already know. I don't have a problem with Mount, or their fans (who in my experience are some of the most knowledgable in D3) but this is idiotic. There is a serious "get over yourself" factor when a team doesn't video broadcast its games for this reason at this level... I mean think of parents who don't live near UMU and can't watch their kid play because of this.

You seemed to have missed the point that the state high school finals being played 20 miles away (3 games today) have used up all available resources that could have broadcast the MUC game.  These three games are played at two sites (one near the Pro Football hall of fame and the other about 12 miles away in Massillon.).
