Been lurking for a bit, but I gotta throw my two cents in on this one...

I personally went to Fisher because of Bud Simms, he's who recruited myself and Fortune.  Vosburgh recruited Buffalo so you can thank him for Stepnick.  Scacchetti had a hand in recruiting me as well as he handles Corning/Binghamton... I may stand corrected but I believe Blaise recruited the city of Rochester and parts of Syracuse but I could be wrong.

Regardless, players weren't chomping at the bit to go to Fisher b/c of Faggiano.  It was because of the Bills being there, rediculous facilities, and great programs offered by the school.... I barely knew the guy when heading to Fisher.

Hope everyone out there is doing well!  I'm living in DC now so it's been hard for me to keep up with what's going on at SJFC.  I'll be back in town next week though so i'm looking forward to stopping by the old stomping grounds.

well there ya have it....tough to debate them apples.....and all this time I thought it was 'our' record of 21-19 back in '82's day that 'recruited' the likes of Robinson, Ferenbach, Stepnick, etc.    ???

It was knowing we'd able to throw back a few cold ones w/ the likes of '82 and '91 after we graduated that brought us there  ;)

Such a kiss-ass.  That said, stop lurking and start posting.  You're missed here.

Easy Frank!  Some of us are trying to save this economy 1 client at a time... Can't be sitting behind a desk all day and it's too dangerous to post on here and drive in this traffic!!!

I'll try to be a bit more active on here- I'm definitely going to try and make an appearance at the Salisbury game down my way!  Missed you guys!  Even the Alfred fans ;)  It was a little less than a year ago when Nick Gatto came to my house in East Rochester and we enjoyed some frosty cold beverages and replayed the good ole' days of playing!  Just goes to show you we CAN all get along!

Hey Pep.  Since you are located in Mayberry, you usually have info we mere mortals do not.  ;) What's up with Secky?  Is there something physically wrong?  Is his mental game off kilter? What? He has never thrown so many balls so poorly.

On Saxon Warriors!!

Pep was away from Merrill on saterday, but I think when you have a rivalry game like Fred-Wick in such inclement weather, you gotta throw the record books out and just be happy for the W.  If there is anything wrong with Secky, my guess would be the injury to his hand when he lined up outside in wildcat formation against Fisher.  At least Pep gets his wish of not having to play as the favorite this weekend!

Pep was in Arlington, VA for Pep Jr.'s engagement party. Pep Jr. stands at 6-6 or 6-7 and yet will be marrying way over his head. Marrying a Vanderbilt grad from Cary, NC who's in law school at George Washington and interned this summer at the U.S. Attorney's Office, working behind the scenes on the Roger Clemens case.

Kaz is correct. Pep is enjoying the fact that AU is clearly the underdog this Saterday....and despite it being Mid-Semester Break, Pep has confirmed that two trumpets, a trombone, a flute, drums and kazoo will comprise our little band. Get the fight song ready....

Welcome back Robby. Great information.

Getting excited about the game tomorrow.  Pep, thanks for pointing out to me that we HAVE played Salisbury before, in '98 and '99.  I had forgotten.  You know, 57 year old brain cells and all that.  I guess we can expect a somewhat smaller crowd than normal with th semester break.  Too bad for such a big game, certainly big in the estimation of Alfred faithful.  I wonder if anyone else in the conference views it as a big game, like perhaps Salisbury.

On Saxon Warriors!!

It's a big game to dlip, no question, and hopefully to most D3 fans that follow East Region Football. Salisbury is trying to run the E8 table and Alfred is trying to return to some glory that has been lost in the last two games. Is this one going to be on streaming vid anyone know?

The Alfred athletics website has a link for watching it streamed live.

No, no it does not.  Just as it continually slays Pep and I that the cheerleader uniforms all say "Saxon" on them.  Though Max gives the former Saxon too much credit by capitalizing "Saterday".
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

It's funny because a lot of players have come on here, been complete d*cks or embarrassed themselves far more than Nick (who by all accounts is a great guy), but that's what gets quoted so often.

Enjoy gameday everyone. Lets go Fisher!!!

I apologize to everybody on what was a clearly EXTREMELY distorted view I had on the 2011 Alfred Saxons. This team is clearly not even close to as good as I had thought, god this game is embarrassing. It's not just the offense either....I've never seen an AU defense get torn apart like this. This Alfred team is not a top 25 squad, and they've proven that the past 3 weeks. What a depressing reality to a season that (as you folks know) I thought was gonna be a dream team.

I coudn't agree more.  I saw it and still can't believe it.  I wasn't surprised we lost, but how does the team recover from this?  I'm not sure I will.  I hate to say it but GOOD GRIEF!!
