Drivinghome pure domination awesome

It is nice to be rewarded for the long drive. Must have been a fun day, and the trip home is that much sweeter after a win.
GO FISHER!!!

wesleydad

congrats to both SJF and Salibury on their wins today.  Looks like the D did the job for Fisher and the backup QB did what was needed to not cost them the game.  4 int's tells me that the Del Val QB did not.  Fisher going to Minnesota and Salisbury going to Wisconsin makes for 2 new quarter final games and I think validates some of the arguments that some of you have been making about the prior playoff set up.  Wesley gets to play an old friend in UMHB while Mount takes on Wabash who pulled off what some would have said was an impossible comeback against NCC.  Most of us were happy when the brackets came out and I doubt that there are any complaints now.  What are the prospects for Kramer playing this week?

Upstate

The most amazing thing about this win is they did it with basically their 3rd string QB!

That defense carried the team all year and it's performance these past two weeks has been outstanding.

Hope everyone has a chance to heal up, a tough task in St. Thomas!

I was at the Salisbury v. Kean game and this game by far has been the best game I have seen personally in a long time. Salisbury looked as if they were going to pull away late in the third, but a turnover gave Kean life and that is all they needed. Kean is a great team and they know how to win regardless of circumstance. However, Salisbury seemed poised when it came to overtime and was able to come out on top. I was very impressed with Salisbury team as a whole, they were able to mix it up a bit, incorporating the pass while maintaining their running game and getting turnovers behind the 50. As far as Kean, the quarterback was able make time with his legs, which allowed them to get big plays down field and the two running backs played well too, they had great determination, breaking tackles on critical downs.

I wish I was able to watch the other games. I hope the Wabash v. North Central (Ill.) has replay and I am sure the Wesley v. Linfield game is on replay.

Good game played by all teams this week (E8 doing their thing.)

Let's Go Seagulls!

Congrads to Salisbury for a great win!  It is great to see you guys getting deep into the playoffs.  Give UWW hell for us, will ya?

Good luck in the quarterfinals to Salisbury and St. John Fisher!

Again...way late to the discussion...but a big congrats to Fisher.  Great, great win today.  This run by two E8 teams (and especially Fisher) certainly helps to validate what many of us have been saying for years about the "former" East Region bracket.

I am not sure what has clicked at Fisher...but let's keep this going...

Unfortunately, due to NCAA/Turner Sports rules, videocasts are unable to be re-run due to rights issues.  Trust me, it's not our rule.

Not unhappy to see two E8 teams in the quarters! Obviously the biggest test is for Salisbury, but here's some good luck to both teams for 12/3.

Appreciate the write-up Dan.  I think next week will be an outstanding test for both E8 teams.  Obviously Salisbury has their work cut out for them but how much experience has UWW had against the option attack?  Does anybody know?

I have no clue what St. Thomas is bringing to the table.  I see they've made quite the rise going from a 2-8 season in 2007 to this.

Well UW-Oshkosh ran some kind of hybrid triple option attack but it wasn't really like Salisbury's is and they also passed well out of it all season too. So Salisbury has a chance to cause UWW some trouble but Salisbury is mainly a pure running team and UWW's strength is in stopping the run.

Should be an interesting game! I of course still will predict a comfortable UWW win but it should be pretty close in general.

Master Jedi,
Im not sure what to take from that post, but wish the Warhawks well.
Dont underestimate Salisbury.  They are more athletic than you think.
Fisher will give St. T a great game as well.
The E8 will represent the East well and I am proud to be a FISHER ALUM!

82 and 82jr have made it back to Rochester....win #10 in hand!

Random thoughts on game and DVC...

As Gordonmann stated....SJF was much bigger and physical

SJF started quick and showed their potential for this game to be over early....but turnovers and blocked FG stalled their 1st 2 drives.

The DVC QB is good....man he owned that pocket for most of 1st half and SJF had zero pressure

Absolute turning pt....1 play....after 2 straight drives by DVC that resulted in TD's and SJF having not yet touched the QB, as 1st half was closing and DVC was driving for go-ahead score, our dline finally broke through, but the QB scrambled for decent gain....

....But that was all it took, because QB was never same after that 1 pressure....he threw int very next play to end the half and we went in with 17-14 lead BUT more importantly...the MOMENTUM.

Second half....our defense was in QB's kitchen almost every play and at one point they just stopped even trying to throw down field....they completed 5-6 passes in a couple series, but they were all screen and dump passes behind the line....

We kept in his face and he kept throwing the pick.

I see DVC led in most stat categories, but absolutely no sign of that really on the field....they had those 2 solid second quarter drives, and a couple late desperation drives and that is it.

The real stat is one not on paper...the physical play was 85%-15% in Fisher's favor and DVC's decent athletes on offense eventually just got manhandled.

I remember wondering whther this was even a .500 ball club about 6-7 weeks ago, and quite frankly they dont have a top flight offense to make you think they are a 10 win team, but this defense and their overall physical play, including the o-line make them a threat to keep this thing going...

Great special teams and Cody Miller at RB is shaping up nice!!!

Unfinished business from 2004......FINISHED!
