Good luck to both teams!  A win by one of the two teams would be a great thing for the east.  So I'm hoping for at least one gigantic upset.

Just wondering but how many SJF backers made it to St Paul today? I saw what looked like about 10 scattered through our quad while I was walking to the gym around 3:30 and a few were taking some pictures, that or just alotmore wearing red than usual around here.

Sorry to add to the good wishes late but good luck to SJF and SU.  You've already turned some heads eastward and will turn even more with a win or dare I say two wins tomorrow!

dont know of any guys on here that went...probably parents, siblings etc...

could have been 'our boy' Peter Montemurno from 950 ESPN Radio, although I havent seen the pics by cell phone yet, so not sure if he's there yet?

218Tommie

That could've been him. I did see someone take pic's of our statue in the quad.

But then again, that could've been anybody.

You know the more I think about it the more I am glad it is Fisher going in this regional finals matchup and not Delaware Valley.  Outside of the obvious reasons for why I'd want Fisher to be playing, I think it's just better because of all of the people who keep slamming the East.  If St. Thomas had to go to Del Val's turf and lets say laid the wood on them...well that's an undefeated Eastern region team getting spanked by a West region team.  But if Fisher loses - well Salisbury and Hobart have sufficiently proven that Fisher is beatable so they can't say we ran roughshod through the East but as soon as we play somebody from outside our region (and conveniently ignoring what we did with Johns Hopkins) we lose.

If Fisher wins however?  Well then that is shades of John Carroll's infamous 2002 playoff run where they won the East with their backup QB (even though I believe the Brockport people have their own reasons for why that game was lost)...Pat and company would refer to that run for years and years as an indicator of our region's lack of strength.  I think this would mean we could use that same logic and turn it around on the South and West if Fisher were to win today.  Then maybe everybody could see it is a flawed logic after all.  If Fisher wins today it doesn't mean the West or South is weak at all...but we could thump our chests like they were...like people have been doing towards the East for years.

Go Fisher!

This last week I have watched every piece of video I could find on St Thomas and to be completly honest I feel confident in the Cards chances.  The Tommies are a big, athletic and a well coached football team but do not have anything that Fisher has not seen in the East this season.  In my opinion the Tommies big O-line is not as physical or athletic as Fishers.  Tobin is a hard runner with good vision but rather small at 185lbs and not extremely fast.  Miller runs just as hard if not harder and finishes every run strong.  Waldvogel at WR is very fast and has great hands and possibly the biggest threat the Tommies have.  The QB throws a nice ball and runs well, but it seems like every QB in the E8 ran this year.  I guess what I am saying is there are no surprises for Fisher today, nothing to strike fear in this team.  The coaching staff has been here and farther before, they have prepared teams for the mighty Mt Union 3 times and the Tommies are not Mt Union.  They have played very well on the road this year and I believe they will be well prepared, confident and very excited to get on the field for this game.  This should be a close hard fought game with some very physical play from both sides,  as it should be from what I believe are two evenly matched teams.   I can't wait!

Yep, you just described the UST offense pretty well. The other 11 are winning games for them as well, however.

Absolutely, that is why I feel Fisher must limit the Tommies "O" because I think points could be hard to find in this one.

Good luck to Salisbury and SJF today! Dlip believes in you two, you can do this!
