I find it rather funny that Fisher folk like me and others get ripped because we  "had sour grapes" about the loss, and yet some of the Miac posters (and some of our own east guys) find a need to continue to push buttons.

Lacrosse is how far out?

Dude, last week you were bragging about all the trumping up of SJF you were doing over there, then SJF gets trounced, and you complain about ST running up the score not a day later. THEN when people complain about your whining you say "But THEY'RE mean TOO!" Sheesh. Does the 91 stand for the year your parents got married?

That stretch almost makes my bad jokes look reasonable.  Try this one next time:

"Does 91 stand for the number of months old you are?"

yeah, was gonna go with birth year but that wouldn't have worked either. lousy in-between numbers...

If the 2011 Bethel Royals weren't any better than the 2010 version, they have no room to talk.  They were one of the worst final four opponents Mount has ever faced.

Granted, it was 7-0 Bethel after the 1st Quarter... And they knocked out the starting QB (Seaman)... Bethel got hyper-conservative after the initial TD and paid a huge price for it.  That led to a 24-point second quarter by Mount Union.  On paper, though, I'd say 2010 Bethel looked better than 2011 Bethel, even ignoring the W/L numbers.

You can analyze Bethel anyway you want....but at the end of the day.......THEY SUCKED in the semi-finals.  There should be no Bethel, MIAC, or whoever trumpeting Bethel's accomplishments.  They couldn't throw, couldn't kick, and couldn't stop Mount when they needed to....period.  This "Bethel better than SJF" talk is just ridiculous.

I'm not participating in it besides pointing out the tempo of a game I announced (as did HScoach).  It was unlikely to me that Bethel could repeat last year's run this year.  It shouldn't diminish their 2010 accomplishments, though.  SJF's final game shouldn't diminish their 2011 accomplishments, similarly.  The system worked for once -- we will always have arguments that the "wrong" two-loss team gets chosen, but I'd rather have THAT argument instead of arguing that a two-loss team SHOULD be chosen.  Pat, Ralph and I (and many others) have been up the NCAA's backside as much as we respectfully could be over the past 3 or 4 years about this.  Wheaton and Bethel would've likely made it no further than SJF, depending on pairings and bracketing.  Yet, SJF maximized what I think any of those teams could've done -- which is a priceless result for all of us, including Bethel and Wheaton fans that might face the same issue in future years.

Max...welcome to the boards....did you come here just to pound some Fisher flesh?   Its nice when other schools can do that to Fisher for you in the National quarters.....

Max is happy that someone from Ithaca finally beat Fisher for the first time since 05...

Nah Max is usually level headed, he's not an Ithaca poster who looks for whatever shot he can take at Fisher.

Personally I wish there was no trash talking on both sides leading up to that game.  It made yesterday that much worse for me...though admittedly if we were to win it probably would have made it that much sweeter.  I think I'm just frustrated that Fisher didn't play the way they played in the two previous playoff games.  They were playing mistake free and it was fun to watch.  Yesterday, not so much.  No disagreement that St. Thomas was better - but Fisher could have played them a hell of a lot tougher than that.

Unfortunately this is true,

It takes real talent to be sitting at 5-2 and have a 5-11 season staring you in the face...

I don't see a winnable game for them the rest of the year...

Being a Bills fan is just 16 headaches a year. I love the Bills, but this run of being well below average has to stop.
GO FISHER!!!

I was really hoping SJF would give ST and better game and provide a better measuring stick of just how good ST really is.  Based on the two times I've seen them this year, I think they can hang with Whitewater.  They have size, speed and athletecism.  The unknown is how they will react when the team on the other side of the ball matches their size, speed and athletecism.  And how they will react the first time that dliping cannon goes off.

That first sentence in the quote mystifies me a bit... How do we know if it was or wasn't a measuring stick?  Maybe UST IS that good.  Maybe SJF did provide a good matchup (maybe not size, but agility and ability), and UST handled it well.  No team except for maybe a Mount Union, Wesley, UMHB or Linfield would really provide any ability to make comparisons to a forthcoming UWW game -- so using this game as a dipstick for that purpose at all doesn't seem to make much sense to me.  The point of SJF making the playoffs at all was that they were better than Case and Endicott despite W/L numbers.  Everything beyond that first game was gravy and unexpected in a lot of ways.  Every game in the playoffs for both teams provides challenges that you can't ignore -- even in a rout scorewise.
Thanks, Frank.  +1!  :)

(And thanks to the committee.)
but probably not better than Bethel who gave St. Thomas a much better test.  The pool c selections could have been worse with case or endicott, but I'd say there's still room for improvement in a system that takes Illinois College and SJF over Bethel and Wheaton.

Keep swinging AO, eventually you may hit something. Yet, this post is the same as the others...hot air :P

It would appear that AO is a troll in the internet sense.  At least that is how I would define him and his posts.
