Already Tuesday of week 1: how about some predictions?

Fisher slips past Thomas More
Buff State beats Cortland
Ithaca over Moravian
Salisbury over Christopher Newport
Utica over St Lawrence (?)

Wow. Predicting a good week for the E8

Cortland over Buff State in a squeaker 27-24
Ithaca gets its offense going early vs Moravian 31-13
Salisbury gets a big win over a tough Christopher Newport 38-21
St. Lawrence with a mini upset over Utica 28-26
Fisher squeaks past Thomas More 31-28 in OT

1 question Upstate......How far will the game winning field goal be that Fisher kicks in OT? If you nail that 1 then you are onto something! ;)

29 yards...only because any thing over 30 will be a total crap shoot this year for Fisher.

Ithaca with 31? There's going to need to be a lot of special teams/defensive scores to make that happen. I do like Ithaca to win that game, simply because Morivian's quarterback's last season were...well, horrid. I can only assume they'll be better. I think it's 19-13, much like the Brockport game last season.

Cortland over Buff State 27-13
Utica 35-24 over S. Lawrence
Salisbury over CNU 41-17
Fisher over T.M a billion to 2. (Okay 24-13)

Bombers, who is getting the nod at QB this weekend. Neumann or Mr. Hendel?

Agree with all except Buff State over Cortland. I think the Red Dragons will pull it out.

I just cannot wait until real football starts! Enough of this pre-season stuff with a bunch of overpaid grown men. I dislike the NFL anyway, but theres something about the whole "flash" that irks me. Give me a college game anyday where either team has a chance to win and I am a happy guy.

That Buff State/Cortland game is the one I am most interested in this weekend (except Fisher of course), due to the fact I don't feel like I have a real solid feel for either team. I was impressed with Buff State last year, and think they will improve with Boyes running another off season. Cortland was a quality team last year. They lost a lot, but had to have had some depth to be as good as they have been the last few years. I made the pick for Buff State based on a confidence in Boyes more than anything else.

Apparently Hendel quit:

Yup. Heard that, but wanted to let Delaney break it. Not surprising really. Hendel's a senior. The team is going to be terrible, and he was the backup. Maybe he just felt it wasn't worth it. Still, two QB's quitting the team inside of two weeks? Not good

Too bad for a kid that worked for three years to feel like it is that bad to leave the team. Happens more often than it should however. Hopefully it is the right decision for him, and he can still take positives out of his football days.

He should have went to Fisher instead. Oh snap! Did I just say that? I think I must have a fever.

Dlip wishes Jason Hendel good luck in whatever he chooses to do. Jason had a very good game against Union last year and earned some respect from dlip.

I've heard, frankly, that this was one of Hendel's problems, and why he didn't get the starting job in 2010 over Zappia. Regardless, I echo Dlip's sentiments. Best of luck, Jason.

So from what I hear, backing up Neumann is a kid who was on JV last year, and I guess third string is a freshman. So I'm expecting pretty much zero from the position, unless Neumann got a lot better
