Well the game isn't even this week, but I will make another point that will again get me bashed.

Bombers, you say you'd like objective rather than homer fans, and I agree with you. However, if Fisher were playing UWW or MUC, and some of these comments were made, some of these same notoriously defensive fisher fans would come out arguing that their team had a chance, even though the numbers against OOC opponents show otherwise.

Apples to Oranges as Booby pointed out. Buffalo State hasn't won more than five games since 2000. Fisher's coming off a run to the third round of the playoffs. The Bengals may be tougher under Boyes, but we're still on a 12 year run of non-winning seasons. Fisher's been one of the better teams in the East over the last eight years. Of course Fisher would have a better shot. But they'd probably still lose by 17 if I were guessing.

And this was not a flawless performance by the Bengals either. While we were all impressed by Katz's performance, the defense was not good. They allowed 422 total yards to a team replacing/missing a lot of offensive talent. Cortland was breaking in a new QB and missing their best WR and they still were able to move the ball very well. So I'm interested to see how they'll do on the road against a better team

It may be apples to oranges now, and Buffalo State definitely doesn't have the credentials to be on Fisher's level based on Historical value. However, it's hard to predict what this season will bring. That's all I'm saying. What if Buff State goes 9-1 with the only loss to UWW?

Plus, Mount Union, just this weekend, beat the #13 team on the road by 38 points. So is there a big difference between the #10 team and others when it comes to facing the big 2? It seems like there are really only 2 or 3 teams that come close to being a game with them.

I know things can be thrown back and forth and I didn't mean to be so "emotional" about it (even though I'm really not, because Buffalo State is really not something I care that much about). It could be that the term "loser attitude" was too strong, I just wanted to at least give some slim chance of hope, even though the overwhelming odds are against them.

I will now slowly back away conversation while whistling.  ;) . I didn't mean to cause an eruption of posts!

Sweet lord,
I am going to sound like an ass but it needs to be said.
Buffalo State is not in Fisher's league.
Im speaking both in the past 7 years and now.
Fisher has proven itself and is still a legit elite 8 team.
Buff St. has won ONE game this season..
Do I respect what is going on in Bengalland? Yes.
Do I think they are on par with Fisher..No friggin way

haha it's ok FA91, I think that's the kind of thing that allows PG to call some of the Fisher faithful notoriously defensive.  I myself don't even think he was specifically comparing Fisher to Buff State, just that we somehow believe the outcome would be different.  I think it's rightfully so that we believe that, but everybody is entitled to their own opinion.

Yep.  :) I knew FA91 would get a little unhinged by my comments. I am certainly not dumb enough to compare what Fisher has done to one game of Buffalo State. All I have been trying to say is that absolutely nothing (really) has been decided about this season yet.

Thanks boob, I wasnt addressing PG - but the conversation as a whole.
I am glad that Buff St. has u dub dub  on the sched... It takes balls
In the grand scheme it is a move that Fisher did a few years ago.
that is great!
Are they on par with Fisher now...no...with all not due repect.....no.
Earn my respect with playoff wins and E8 championships...then we will chat..

Also, as much as I've went through all of this, I'm hoping they aren't as good as they were in week 1 since they play at Brockport this week  :P

PG- The fact that you beat Lyco is a good thing.
Good luck this week!
Please put Buff St to task!

Way off topic but still football related...

Anyone think theres more to the store with the ol' "honey badger"?

I feel like theres gotta be something serious there. I know, I know, it sounds VERY VERY stupid to downplay ANY illegal substance but either Miles is taking a stand or this wasnt an isolated marijuana incident. Mathieu might not even be back next year, according to Miles. I dont think Mathieu being done forever is likely, but Miles plays the part very well if its true.

If this is really all to the story, a positive marijuana test, then I gained a lot of respect for Miles. Finally a coach standing up on a moral level. Heck, it took Stephen Garcia 5 suspensions before the ol ball coach canned him. Any thoughts?

** just as a side note: the results of the test were never released but with todays trends, I have just assumed marijuana was the culprit. Could be very wrong and I am assuming I am given the seriousness of the suspension.

I don't think that's going to happen. One of the main reasons the board was created in the first place was because there was too much off topic chatter on the football boards. Then, Ling story short, JT made something like 300 straight posts in politics and the board was shut down. I don't disagree. This is a D3 site and don't disagree with PC wanting to focus everyone back at that.
