As for my thoughts for the upcoming game between Salisbury and St. John Fisher, I believe this game is going to be a big test for St. John Fisher as well as Salisbury. The last time these teams met in Rochester, it was an epic battle, 4OTs (I was fortunate to be able to partake in that game). Speaking of that game back in 2008, it was a very good game by both teams, but some may or may have not known, that Salisbury was also facing some other adverse situations back then as well, due to some off the field issues and injuries. Those issues left Salisbury Defense down to about 55%-60% of their starters on defense that had the previous week. Salisbury had many young guys step up and make the necessary plays to prevail and an all-american DE that was relentless the whole game. Also, going back to that game, their are two plays that I remember well, the reverse-flea flicker and the sack that sealed the deal in OT for Salisbury. Salisbury was a shoe string a way from stopping the so call 'trickeration'. However, the sack in overtime made the difference.

Now coming back to this year, I believe St. John Fisher has to come out strong and finish strong, if they do that, they have a good chance. Salisbury is not a pass happy team, so as far as throwing INT, that may hurt teams that have played St. John Fisher in the past weeks, it is less likely that will be the case for Salisbury. Another thing that may or may not favor St. John Fisher is the fans, the last time Salisbury and St. John Fisher played, I believe the students were away, so that may help. As for Salisbury, even with the unceartinty of their star QB, I believe the young man behind him has what it takes to run this offense to level of play and execution that Salisbury demands. With that being said, the coaching staff at Salisbury does a great job preparing the players (both sides of the ball) for whatever task they may face and with this situation (somewhat adverse), Salisbury will definitely bring their 'A' game, because from personal experience, we always treat this game as a playoff/championship game, regardless. Nevertheless, its going to be a great game and can't wait to watch it.

Also, I believe the 12:00 start is for traveling reasons, it ensures that the student athletes return in reasonable time.

It does seem that if indeed the Sals. QB is down, that this is the time for Fisher to finally beat them.
It kills me to say it- but Im going to miss the game and broadcast.
Maybe my not paying attention will be a godsend and I dont jinx the alma mater!
Fisher does have several factors working in their favor. Sometimes the Fisher D looks great against the option, other times not so much. If the SU QB is dinged up that will help Fisher, but I am sure SU has some horses and a gameplan to move the ball. I am interested to see what progress the Fisher offense has made during the bye week. If they can put the ball in the sndzone, I think Fisher can get a win.
GO FISHER!!!

Im scratching my head on this one...The Time warner game of the week telecast is UC and Buff St.
Really?
I know that Salisbury is out of state, but the Fisher game has national implications.
:o

Pat Coleman

I doubt Time Warner has any concept of national implications.

And honestly, I bet that's because a lot of CNY viewers don't *care* about national implications. Many of us do, because we're really into this stuff. But how many of their viewers will know who Salisbury is, or care that they're one of the elite teams in the country? Unless you're really into Division III football as a whole, I don't think it matters.
