dlip Im glad you had some fun up in this neck of the woods!!!!
+k for a visitor to NH!!

Amen to that!
I'm a UC Student who lives in Utica full-time.

Also, FisherAlum, i'm scheduled on the call for the UC-Fisher Game. Just an FYI.

I am unsure if both teams pay-in or not, i think that arrangement is exclusively handled by the home team. I will do some asking around.

A bunch of Fisher faithful will be on hand this year for the UC game.

That's definitely the way to do it right there! I'm on like, a half hour before game time more or less.

By the way, They've talked about replacing those in the next couple of years. I hope it happens because the ones they have now are dreadful.

I only have to sit on them once every 2 years anyway, plus I pace the sidelines more than not.
It is a good time-tho whoever designed the stadium---did you have to have parking so far away?
Ive parked closer at Ralph Wilson Stadium!

Moose,
I live in New Hartford, and understand the viewership, but a college pay for TWCS to be there?
That I didnt know.
I did find it odd that the game of the week that was on 9/15/12 for ALL of upstate (the SYR and UTR areas included) was the Courage bowl.  I was able to watch my alma mater.
That said, Fisher paid for that coverage?
News to me.

New Hartford, cool ****! dlip used to go out there twice a year as a kid with Schenectady Youth Hockey to play New Hartford Youth Hockey. We had some battles  ;D.

Hey, we used to go out there from Amsterdam and kick their a** in football back in the '70's.  Well, once anyway....

Havent seen a team from east of the Mohawk Valley come this way in a long time.
NH is aweful in FB lately anyway!

MrCardinal

Any word on the status of the Seagulls QB and RB that were both hurt against Buff St?  Backup QB looked to be a freshman who sounded like he had some trouble taking clean snaps towards end of Buff St game.  Fisher could take advantage of this if he's forced to play whole game this week

I think the first time we went was 1972.  NH replaced Kingston on our schedule, which was a nice break

Things must run in cycles.
When I was in school NH was solid.
Won section 3 a few times...
Now we are back to what it sounds like we were in the 70s.

TWCS's decision to do the UC-Buff State game does not have as much to do with viewership as you might think.

In fact, Utica will not even see the game until Noon sunday on replay. We are lumped in with the Syracuse Area here. They have a Big East contract and subsequently, they're going to get the most mileage they can out of that. There's a USF game on instead.

The thing is, viewership really does not drive the bus when TWCS does these D3 games. In fact, Buff State is likely paying a very, very hefty sum of money for this game to be televised. Although i am unsure of the amount, we do pay for that in Utica as well.  If you're a d3 school who is willing to pay their price, and TWCS has an opening, they'll entertain the idea.

I can vouch for this that that is true - for all schools, not just Division III. If a school pays the amount required, Time Warner generally will cover the game unless there are conflicts with either Syracuse University or a high school broadcast.

The schedules are also set out well in advance so current events likely aren't going to force a schedule change.

thursday and not much chatter about the Salisbury/Fisher game this weekend.  My take, having seen Salisbury struggle to score against Wesley, I think that Fisher may be able to slow them down.  If the starting QB is out then Salisbury will have trouble scoring since it takes time to run the triple option effectively.  They have a tough D and will make every yard tough for Fisher.  My concern is can Fisher score enough to win.  I think they need to get to 20 minimum.  In the end I think that this will be a good, tough, close game that Salisbury wins say 21 - 17.  I did take Fisher with the 6.5 on the OAC pick em board.  Enjoy the game this weekend.

How do you get to the OAC pick em board?  I can't seem to find it.

As for the game this weekend it is very difficult to predict how Fisher will look offensively.  They have been a slightly above average offensive unit in my opinion.  Defensively they are good but not elite.  If we could get our offense up to our defense's level I think we could have a team that could compete with anybody this year outside of Mount Union apparently.  But they are unproven offensively and I also think despite my praise that Salisbury will put up points because Fisher has yet to have a strong defensive outing against them.

If the defense plays outstanding I say Fisher wins 21-17 with one of our scores being some sort of defensive or special team play.  If our defense plays Salisbury the way they have traditionally played them I say Salisbury wins this one somewhere along the 35-21 range.

Also I haven't posted in a little while but somebody out there is karma slapping me anyway.  Get a life.

Go to d3boards.com/index, scroll down and click on pick-ems (which is a child board of General Football), then scroll again until you find OAC pick-ems. And I took SJF straight up on my ODAC pick-em board, so I jumped on the +6.5 they were getting on the OAC.
Also, +k on general principle to partially counteract the sniper.
