thursday and not much chatter about the Salisbury/Fisher game this weekend.  My take, having seen Salisbury struggle to score against Wesley, I think that Fisher may be able to slow them down.  If the starting QB is out then Salisbury will have trouble scoring since it takes time to run the triple option effectively.  They have a tough D and will make every yard tough for Fisher.  My concern is can Fisher score enough to win.  I think they need to get to 20 minimum.  In the end I think that this will be a good, tough, close game that Salisbury wins say 21 - 17.  I did take Fisher with the 6.5 on the OAC pick em board.  Enjoy the game this weekend.

How do you get to the OAC pick em board?  I can't seem to find it.
As for the game this weekend it is very difficult to predict how Fisher will look offensively.  They have been a slightly above average offensive unit in my opinion.  Defensively they are good but not elite.  If we could get our offense up to our defense's level I think we could have a team that could compete with anybody this year outside of Mount Union apparently.  But they are unproven offensively and I also think despite my praise that Salisbury will put up points because Fisher has yet to have a strong defensive outing against them.

If the defense plays outstanding I say Fisher wins 21-17 with one of our scores being some sort of defensive or special team play.  If our defense plays Salisbury the way they have traditionally played them I say Salisbury wins this one somewhere along the 35-21 range.

Go to d3boards.com/index, scroll down and click on pick-ems (which is a child board of General Football), then scroll again until you find OAC pick-ems. And I took SJF straight up on my ODAC pick-em board, so I jumped on the +6.5 they were getting on the OAC.
Also, +k on general principle to partially counteract the sniper.

Thanks for the heads up!  I thought it was under general football but my problem was that I searched while not signed in and child boards don't show up then apparently.

+k back to you, though i'm at the same level I last was so it looks like I was hit again  8-)

after posting this I will likely loss some karma, but there are several individuals out there who have nothing better to do than ding karmas.  I went from in the 40's at the end of last year to under 10 when the season started.  When you think about that you kind of feel sorry for the person or persons who went out of their way to come on d3, find a post of mine and ding the karma.  Found it quite amusing that I have annoyed someone to that point.  Oh well, as they say not everyone is going to like you, so be it.

Wesleydad,
You arent the only one hit.
The sniper has hit many of us!

Have you guys considered the possibility that you're all jerks and no one likes you?

Just kidding. +K to everyone. Snipers gonna snipe, but it's been a pretty civil (and thoroughly engaging) season both on the field and on the boards. If someone wants to snipe, let them.

Although, I kind of wish there was a way to out people who just go around handing out -Ks left and right every day, or just a way to prevent it. I like the 24-hour system, and I wish there were other ways to limit it, like only allowing a certain number of -K in a day (because really, if you're dealing out a dozen a day, you're probably just trolling) or the number of days in a row you can -K a certain account. Or even just a display of the number of +K and -K a poster has given. But every system has limitations, and this one seems better than most.

(While I'm talking about things I think would be awesome: If Odette Annable would go on a date with me that would be epic.)

Anyway, remember Superman57? He prided himself on a -K rating. I wasn't around for the origin story, but I thought it was an awesome way to just not worry about it.

Bombers,
Its funny you say that this season has been very civil!
I was just thinking the same thing!
Level heads, some good banter, and great topics!
+k to you my good man!

Pat gave the Bombers some love in the TT today. I have to agree with his assessment that Ithaca's toughening schedule is going to tell us a lot. I could see them starting 6-0, leading to an IC-Fisher showdown, and finishing 7-3. Which, honestly doesn't make them much different from any one of the indistinguishable teams from 1996, 1997, 1999, or 2000. And considering where they were last year, I think we'll take that.

I think Alfred squeaks by at home though. The loss of linebacker Will Carter is a lot to overcome, especially against an Alfred team that's so dependent on the run.

Saxons 24-23. Bombers continue to play well, however, which frankly, is really encouraging. Who'd have thought, at this point in the season, Ithaca would have the conference's leading rusher (by a lot) and the starting QB with the best comp % and TD-INT ratio? It's like we're in 2004 with Felicetti and Donovan all over!

Wesleydad I'm starting to get the feeling this is a good scheme for you to collect Karma points in bunches ;)

Look's to be a great match-up between Salisbury and St. John Fisher tommorrow. However, it appears to be some rain in the forcast. Honestly, I don't know who this favors, traditionally it would be the option team. Hoping for another Epic match-up. The last time the Seagulls was at Growney, it was a game for the ages. I am so excited, can't wait to watch.

Good Luck to both teams tomorrow!

Safe Travels for everyone traveling as well, especially with the slick conditions.

Pep just checked the forecast. While it looks pretty dismal out there for the moment, by game-time it should be "Partly Cloudy" with the temperature at about 50 degrees with winds up to 16 mph, making it feel more like 45 degrees. 10 percent chance of precipitation. Looks like a great day to snuggle up in the Merill Field stands and watch some top-notch D3 football!

Let's go, ALFRED!

On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!
