Pep just checked the forecast. While it looks pretty dismal out there for the moment, by game-time it should be "Partly Cloudy" with the temperature at about 50 degrees with winds up to 16 mph, making it feel more like 45 degrees. 10 percent chance of precipitation. Looks like a great day to snuggle up in the Merill Field stands and watch some top-notch D3 football!

Let's go, ALFRED!

I think this helps the Bombers, a team that struggles on turf, against faster teams.

Looking forward to Salisbury/SJF E8 heavy weight battle today. Gulls win 28-17. If SJF's O starts slow or struggles to find their flow like in weeks past they will pay regardless if injured Gulls star QB plays or not. Good luck to both teams and dlip hopes for an injury free game for both teams!

Pains me to say -- but SJF outclassed in the end on this one.

SJF now 0-4 vs. Salisbury.  In this most recent loss though - Fisher had the opportunities but basically handed the guls the win

There was an ATN column on which was the best conference, right now the E8 has to be wondering what they are as Salisbury 9 games in to conference play is now 9-0 and counting.

Very disappointing day for the Cardinals.

Wow! Dlipstradamus up in here.  :o

Well as it would turn out Salisbury would have their star QB and Fisher would lose theirs in the 1st quarter.  We got an extended look at Fenti today and he played very well until the 4th quarter when Fisher turned into a turnover machine.  I thought for 3 and a half quarters the two teams were neck and neck, maybe even Fisher being a little bit better.  But as somebody else alluded to on the in game updates thread, Salisbury continues to make plays against Fisher when it matters the most.

What the heck happened in that 4th quarter?  A fumble within our own 10 yard line that Salisbury capitalizes on for a TD.  A pick 6 on the next drive.  Another interception with a few minutes left during our last meaningful drive.  That's all she wrote.  It's crazy that we played so well and then just completely switched gears like that.

Oh one last thing - I thought our defense did such a good job today.  Fourteen points were yielded based almost entirely off of our offense.

Oh and Griffin is nasty.  He has great anticipation while running and is perfect for that offense.  He is better than Sharpe in my opinion for those of you that remember him.  This is coming from a Fisher fan who witnessed what Sharpe was capable of firsthand too.

Utica beat Buffalo State 51-44. The Bengals are really disappointing given the beginning of the season, to say the very least. I said it last week and will say it again now, it's like they forgot the season continued after the trip to Wisconsin.

Im not sure that i should be writing this now because im still too peeved to be on here, but this was the shot that Fisher wanted.
D playing great, total domination in ball control, moving the ball at will against Salis.
Why o why does it come to insane turnovers to put the nail in the coffin?
This game was 6 minutes away from finally being the season that Fisher beats Sal.
Lunacy.
Fisher is for real this season.
This game was this close.
God.
Another season losing to this team and WE HAD EM.
To paraphrase an old ball coach.
The were who we thought they were...

Thanks bombers
thats the first smile ive had all day!

seems like fisher had their chances.  griffin is very good and runs that offense skillfully.  too bad fisher losses their QB early.  in the end it seems like turnovers are the killer as they always are.  the gulls are a good team and I am not surprised they have gone undefeated in the E8, they are a top notch program as are some of the E8 teams.  I know that the E8 sees the triple option but probably not at the level of athletes that the Gulls have.  fisher proved they are good last year with a run to the quarters and if they win out they could get in again and will be a tough game for anyone.

Hello - new to the boards!  Former Fisher football player - no kids on the team.  I was at the game today and and for the majority of the game the two teams were pretty evenly matched.  In my opinion, Fisher's main problem is coaching!  Offensive play calling is horrible!  They have 150 kids on the sideline - but there is no emotion!  The team is undisciplined - at least 4 offsides and 3 personal foul calls today.  And it seems like these are the same problems they have game after game.  Good coaching would put an end to all of these problems.

I think the offense looked much better with Fenti in the game.  If he is the starter on day 1, I think Fisher is still undefeated!  As long as he remains the starting qb from here on out, Fisher is going to be a very difficult team to beat!

I didn't mean to be a first time contributor to the board and speak negatively about Fisher, however I think they will always be a good team, but not a great team, until they make some coaching changes!

You may have something there pg04. I left the game today when we went up 30-21 and heading in for another score. 51 degrees and my sweatsuit said enough is enough. Call me shocked when I saw the final score.

I'd hate to think that our win over WW will be the final 1 for 2012, but 3 out of 4 remaining on the road to finish our maiden E8 journey, doesn't leave 1 with much encouragement. 111 points given up over the past 3 games! >:( . Not sure where we went wrong. I'm sure hoping that a change of scenery works for us at Ithaca. It did in Whitewater. ;). Coyer Field is becoming a house of doom (Gloom) :'(

Cant say I agree with you there. Yes, coaching has a lot to do with negative plays but youre talking about college football. Its not high school or jv where you have to hold their hands. Negative plays are a poor reflection on the coaching staff but ultimately lie with the player. If he is undisciplined, it will come out in a high emotion game and unfortunately there isnt much a coach can do.

I think, besides my personal bias of course, that Fisher has one of the best staffs in the east region. When you're starting QB and top playmaker is injured, unfortunately a team is waiting to unravel.

And in regards to the lack of emotion, thats on the players too. If you can get hyped, you dont have a pulse. But not much a coach is going to say, minus a last minute "hoorah" speech, is going to get a player fully prepared. That all lies in personal preparation.
