Just went on the Fisher site to get the links for audio and none were listed
Gene and Peter didnt make the trip?

I used the link on the D3football.com scores page. Not listening yet, but the link is there.
GO FISHER!!!

fisheralum91

Thx,
Just pulled it up.
They are broadcasting!

Listening to the pregame, it sounds like it will be Kramer under center today. Not a big fan of the move, but the coaches know more than I.
GO FISHER!!!

Rowdy Rowdy Bomber

Ehh Bombers!  NSRB can't take watching Syracuse anymore... at least he's not having to cheer for Capital... losing 0-52 at halftime.

sure hope South Hill's finest can pull a 2nd-half comeback for the W today.

The 2012 SJF Cards appears to be house of cards.

With Buff State, IC, and UC left to go, it could get ugly.

I dont know what to take from this loss other than utter disappointment and disgust.
Mental errors again plague this team.
This loss was the dagger for the season..
Can anybody say ECACs?
Not the way I wanted Kramer going out.

interesting result today with the saxons beating fisher.  i was looking for a game to go see next week and i think i have one.  the saxons/salisbury game may be the best one for me to get to saturday.  alfred seems to be playing well, can they give the gulls a game?

fisheralum91

wesleydad,
If the alfred d can contain the option to some extent, they certainly have a shot.
The running game for AU is smashmouth in your face.
Solid.
Their D is very aggressive.
If they keep to their assignments, that AU SU game should be a dandy.

Congratulations to Alfred. It must have been a heck if a game to watch.
E8 is a pretty exciting conference even for those of us who have to attachment to it.
Wesleydad, you made a good choice. The Alfred/Salisbury game next week will be excellent.
Another game to watch--or at least to keep tabs on--will be the Hobart-RPI game. Hobart is undefeated, but RPI has an historic president of ruining Hobart's season. So it will be a knock down drag out fight. RPI loves to play the spoiler, so Hobart needs to have their ish together like never before.
Two humdingers next weekend. Can anyone think of other match ups that may prove exciting?

Thanks Rev, that was enjoyable from the west side of Merrill Field.  I thought we were Hobart for the final minute of the first half and I'm still speechless about the fake FG.  That'll be a vision seered into my brain like so many other big plays from the past.  It'll be interesting to see if Alfred can keep within 69 of the Gulls next week...
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

Heck, if the Saxons can pull off a 70-point swing (over last year), that would match the Miracle at Merrill when AU beat Susquehanna in 1965, 18-16 after losing to the Crusaders in The 'Grove 68-0 the year before.

Pep must say that our little band (a trumpet, a trombone, a flute, a kazoo and a few drums) put in a hard day's work today. It was a fight to the end. Pep is exhausted!

Pep is proud of the Saxons. They beat a solid Fisher team today. Pep was impressed by the Fisher O-line when it came to protecting Kramer. 51 passes thrown....no sacks for the Saxons. But to their credit, the Alfred "D" kept the Fisher running game in check.....45 yards on 24 carries. Pep was happy to see Sopak make a tackle on the botched end-around pass....saved a TD. Likewise, Britton saved a TD on the late blocked punt. There didn't seem to be a time Pep could breathe a "sigh of relief" until Sopak took a knee.

All in all, an incredible day of football at "The Pit."

On Saxon Warriors!
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

What should happen in the top 25 because of yesterday's AU-Fisher game? Any thoughts?

On Saxon Warriors!!

fisheralum91

AU cracks the top 25, Fisher tumbles out of the rankings. >:(

mattvsmith

I don't know if it's going to be that drastic. Ibthink they will drop about 10 spots, but if they lose to Ithaca, out of top 25 altogether.  SJF still has the ability to be an 8-2 team this season. Ithaca, Buff State, Frostburg State, and Utica are not impossible foes to overcome.

Like Mark Twain, reports of SJF's death are premature.

wesleydad

what will be interesting to see is how far alfred moves up.  they have to move ahead of fisher but they were not getting much love prior.  if they only move into the 20's you would think that fisher drops out.

will be looking to hear from the saxon fans this week about the big game with the gulls, including who is making the trip.  i am heading down and would like to meet some of you guys.
