Just read that the Rowan QB is out this week.  That will certainly change how this game plays out.  I am not sure how the back up is but I thought this would be a low scoring game anyway.  I dont think that Rowan can win it with a back up.  This will also change my travel plans since I do not think it will be that good of a game with Rowan not being able to score.  Shame for Rowan, but good for the Gulls.

Wesley Dad, I haven't heard about Bianchini being out, I do know Eisenhart WR and Dorsh RB will be playing ! Second string QB is transfer from Rutgers I believe he's a pretty big guy, although not season tested and young. Will be traveling down to Salisbury for this one. I've watched SU online and have seen most of Rowan games, I think this one will well be worth the ticket price with the winner ready to make some noise in Philadelphia next week and I don't know if Widener could stop either team..........My thoughts !

What a shame, dlip just doesnt think the Profs can do it without Louie B. Dlip feels for the kid and wishes him the best in his future. Tough break for the Profs, D is going to have to be nasty for the Profs to have a chance. **** dlip was high on Rowan and hoping to see them do well. Good luck to both the Gulls and the Profs this week, lets hope for an injury free game.

Haven't been on in a while...but I have been lurking and watching the boards and my Salisbury Gulls...Went to Saturday's game and came away impressed with both teams' play. I will make no apologies/excuses for beating Rowan without their starter. The backup QB for Rowan is the real deal. I read up on him, coming out of Tenafly HS in NJ he was a well thought of recruit for some FCS teams before breaking his leg in a game about mid way through his senior season. He wound up as a preferred walk on at Rutgers, but landed at Rowan after a period at RU. The future for Rowan with this young man looks very bright indeed-watch out NJAC over the next 3 years. With that said my Gulls earned the win with their own outstanding play!...The game was not high scoring but was very exciting as both defenses played very well. Salisbury played as good a game as I have seen them play this year, save for 1 special teams miscue that could have been huge (muffed punt catch), but that player more than excelled on the next series of defense. The SU superback, Benedetti, was terrific and "pounded the rock" all day. The SU O-line was really good and got off the ball hard all day. #9 on defense for SU was a difference maker and after struggling early the d-backs clicked and starting getting in the passing lanes and disrupting the Rowan passing game....soo with all that said....even though Widener is at home and undefeated SU will be moving on to Alliance....Go GULLS!

A confident chap SU Backer, dlip agrees wholeheartedly. He too feels The Gulls will defeat Widener. Best of luck to Salisbury the E8 representative.

SUADC...I will always be a SU fan :)...I was with Joe at the game, not sure if he had a chance to see all the old gang or not...I love your quote " when up, stay up and show no mercy"....that has to be from Coach Wood!...but if the tables are turned and the shoe is on the other foot so to speak, he doesn't complain, just says "hey we just gotta play/coach better!"...that is one of the reasons I really like the guy...
I feel good heading into Widener...not that it is going to be easy by any means, but the triple option can be tough to prepare for in 1 week of practice...and I think the defense is getting better each week
Go Gulls!

Great win for the gulls ! I've attended most of Rowan's games this year, and was very impressed with SU defense. I haven't seen to many teams able to shut down their passing attack this year. RU receivers are pretty good when the ball gets to them. Widener obviously has a great QB, I've watched a lot of their games online, but I don't think they've seen a defense or offense like SU. I stand by my original post, the winner of Rowan -Salisbury game goes onto Alliance with nothing to loose and a lot to gain !

Don't think Salisbury is a good as last year and no knock on the current team. Not a fan of either, but IMHO Widner by (7). I think that their "D" will step up. Time will tell. I have them going to the sacrificial alter in Alliance next week. Good Luck. Happy Thanksgiving to everone.
It ain't over till it's over, and when you get to the fork in the road, take it.

Rams,
I will agree with you there.
SU looked human this year.
They took a pounding from Fisher and AU ans almost lost, and when they lost to IC it seemed that the aura of Salis. was gone.
Not that they arent a good team- they are.
But I would agree that they arent quite as good as last year.

Interesting enough, many say that Salisbury may not be as good this year as previous, you may or may not be correct depending on how you perceive a team. I think the perception is that Salisbury has not been putting up big numbers offensively this year as last year, therefore their not as good. However, Salisbury has not been giving up that many points either. I did a quick analysis of points scored last year compared to this year. Salisbury average 44.92 ppg (thru 13 games)last year and averages 33.36 this year (thru 11 games), which is a differential 11.56 points. However, the defense gave up 20.84 last year thru 13 games and only gives up 13.27 this year, which is a differential of 7.57. Overall, it is roughly on a difference of 4 points. Therefore based on my anaylsis, correct me if i'm wrong, last year Salisbury team is only 4 points better than this years.

I think many people look at points scored as an indicator if a team is great or not and forget that defense plays games too.

Spoken like a defensive player  :)

But of course you're right.  It is easy to be wowed by some of the 60-spots that Salisbury threw up last year and conclude that since they're not doing that every week the team is less powerful, while forgetting that the defense could be better.
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

SUADC,
You really think that this years team is as good as last?
If that is the case then many in the E8 have caught up to you, or what I think to be true, this is just a down season for the league as a whole.
