Dlip loves the way Buff St scheduled! Dlip wishes more teams would go get it like the Bengals!

Dlip. I couldn't agree with you more! There's a feeling on campus that we could be onto something special. It's nice to see that many on these boards know that Jerry Boyes has the ability to bring it. Now it's just a question of whether or not we have the talent and the heart to match. Trust me...Boyes is gonna do his damn-dest (SIC) to bring them up to "the top of the heap" - AUPEP.

Yes I'm late on the boards there buddy but after the primaries are over next week I'll be more in tune. Especially if my beloved BENGALS can go to Cortland (9-2 last season, 1-1 in NCAA playoffs) and come back with a "W"!

I think Buffalo State can be dangerous, especially on offense, this season. Will be interesting to see how the scheduling works out though. I think it's easy to say you get better by scheduling tough opponents, but I think at the end of the day, if you've got good coaching and talented players, you're going to be okay. Buffalo State;s had a history of scheduling tough games, yes, but with the exception of a few building/rebuilding years, the last quarter century of Buffalo State football success and failure is pretty much directly tied to if Boyes is on the sidelines. When he is, they're good. When he's not, they stink. Since he's on the sidelines this year, they'll probably be good.

I do think the Bengals need to play more consistent and not so much to the level of their opponent however. They let Frostburg hang around till the third quarter and barely beat Hartwick. And where they were so tough in the second half against UWW and Cortland, and even Salisbury, they absolutely fell apart against Alfred (Outscored 33-7 in the second half) and Utica (allowed 30 points in the 4th quarter at home).

It will be Homecoming in Mayberry on Oct. 5 when the Bengals visit Merrill Field. It will be like no previous visit for the Bengals, now that AU has a roving mascot, a horse and rider, and, of course, the Pep Band.

The band has been playing in Mayberry since Fall 2000 (well, Fall 1999 if you count the all-kazoo band) and now AU is adding a mascot and a horse and rider to the gametime fun:

ALFRED, NY – Alfred University's newest Saxon personality makes its debut Wednesday night when the AU men's soccer team plays its home opener vs. Pitt-Bradford.
Li'l Alf, the University's new mascot, will escort students on a mini-parade from Ade Dining Hall to Merrill Field beginning at 6:30 p.m., proceeding to the field prior to the game's 7 p.m. start. The mascot will be present at various AU athletic events throughout the year.
Li'l Alf will soon be joined by Alfred the Great and his trusty steed Alden (an Anglo-Saxon name meaning defender). The Saxon warrior makes an inaugural appearance at the football home opener, Saturday, Sept. 14, at 1 p.m. against RPI.

Here, Li'l Alf gets a ride around campus.

Alden made himself right at home at Merrill Field Saturday during the Purple-White Intrasquad Scrimmage....taking liberties around the 20 yard line at the south end of the field during a timeout. Just a minute later, the mess was cleaned up by a guy with a scoop and bucket.

Rollin', rollin', rollin, keep dem Saxons rollin'!
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

ITH radio

Sure we're LLcentric but there will be plenty of E8 talk in the last 30 mins of the show tonight.

I see Alfred has a  bye week.  It usually stinks to have your bye week on week one. Unless you are really beat up I guess. Guys and coaches are usually raring up to go..tough to sit another week.when you've already haven't played since last season. The bye week is much more appreciated later in the season. Oh well.

-Right click on the picture you want to post
-Go to 'properties'
-Copy the 'address/url'
-On your reply page on d3boards.com click on the little picture of what looks like the mona lisa.
-paste that 'address/url' inbetween the [img][img]

The 'mona lisa' icon is on the lower left corner of all the font/bold type stuff.

I live in Korea. If I want to listen to a Hobart game, I have to stay up until about 2 am just for the kick off. It stinks. I wish I had a job where I could teach at Hobart in the fall semester and come back to Korea for the spring semester. No such luck.

Rev, what do they call N. Korea in Korea? (which obviously here they call South Korea)
