Good stuff on the Cortaca board the year!  You can tell that the rivalry is as heated as ever.

This is the downside to playing a rivalry game against a team from another conference. It just doesn't matter that much (from a football perspective, that is). Trading the same lame jokes back and forth is tiring, and there's only two regular IC posters here anymore anyway.

So sjfcards....will you be at the Courage Bowl?

On Saxon Warriors!

Unfortunately I can't make it. The change to a late season game bumps up against my schedule for the hockey team I coach. This is the first one I have missed in the last five or six years so I was pretty bummed when I saw the schedule. Good football for a great cause is usually enough for me.

I hope you all enjoy the trip to Pittsford. Should be a great game between two even teams. It essentially becomes a playoff game since neither team will have ANY shot with a third loss (although neither look great for a bid with 2). I hear the weather is supposed to cooperate as well.

So Salisbury pummels Frostburg, 70-14 tonight in the Regents Cup Game and the Sea Gull kicker goes 10-for-10 for PATs....Saxons might have benefitted had he made a chip shot field goal last saterday....or maybe even a PAT in OT, but not to be. Nonetheless, AU going for its first win today in the Courage Bowl. Let's go Saxons!!

Today should be a really tough game for Fisher to win. They are still playing without Fenti (according to the depth chart on the game notes), Kramer, Francis, and several other starters. Hopefully Matt Naton has another game like last week.

Pep was wondering about Fenti. A common friend from Honeoye Falls this week posted her excitement about his playing in the Courage Bowl and Pep alerted her to the fact that he had been injured and was not sure whether he'd be playing. What happened to Kramer and Francis? Injuries?

Francis is injured, and Kramer has disappeared. There is a story behind that to be sure but he hasn't played sine the IC game. Several D lineman are injured and key pieces all over the field are down to 2nd and third options. I am not sure where this season sort of went off the rails for Fisher but since the Salisbury loss there has not been a lot of good news from Pittsford. Naton, Rudy, and Ryan Sweet have done an admirable job filling in, but this isn't the Fisher team from the first 7 weeks.

I just had a random thought...I believe this is the first Courage Bowl ever played during daylight hours. Not sure what that has to do with anything, but I thought I would share. Let's hope the sun is shinning on Fisher today.

Fisher dominates and makes a huge statement.
Well played indeed!

Just got back from the game...

Amazing defensive effort by the Cardinals today. Did NOT see that coming...

4 INTs, 2 FRs and took two to the house for 6...

Good job by the offense to take advantage of short fields and score points. Good job by the line opening up holes for Miller to get his 100yds and 2 TDs...

Fenti took some risks and got burned twice but also made some amazing throws, he was hot and cold on his attempts...

Good team win, hopefully they can build on it for next weeks game in the ECACs or if they get a ridiculously surprising NCAA at large bid...

upstate- not so ridiculous according to both tv and radio announcers!

Man oh man I bet Fisher wishes they had that Ithaca game back.

Out gained Ithaca in the air and on the ground...but they've been sloppy in spots all year with their fumbles and the occasional Fenti arrant throw.  Ithaca and Salisbury were the only two teams good enough to do something about it.  But I left Ithaca thinking we couldn't get out of our own way.  Five turnovers including a fumble at the one yard line and you lose by 3 on the road?  And that's likely the difference between playing CrappyRandomNewEnglandTeam in the ECACs or a team like Johns Hopkins again in the playoffs.

Although there are some similarities between the circumstances of this team and the two loss team in 2011 that made the playoffs.  Fisher had their backs up against the wall heading into the final week of the regular season against Hartwick, were down early, and then reeled off 49 unanswered points.  Well it wasn't 49 unanswered this time, but it was 41.

FA91, I hope to heck the committee looks at their SOS and their history in the playoffs (have never lost a first round game) and gives them the last bid. I haven't checked the national scene to see what the other pool C teams have done yet...

Lets hope is was enough for the committee!
Great game Cards!

BomberJeff

From the way it has been reading (with help from the Pool C board), 2 spots were sealed all but sealed regardless of how today went (loser of JCU/UMU and winner of Oshkosh/Platteville).  That left 3 teams that Wally had ahead of SJF entering today for Pool C- Pacific Lutheran, Illinois Wesleyan and Wabash.

Wabash has won 38-21 over DePauw, Illinois Wesleyan has just beaten Elmhurst 24-10, and Pacific Lutheran (who seems to be the best of the 3) is off this week.
