Mr. Ypsi

One minor correction: it is Pac Lu, not Pacific, who will be a C.

Good point. While I am hoping SJF gets the nod, and would very much like to see them play either Hobart or MUC, I can't see it happening with 2 in conference losses. The other 9-1 teams better seasons from fairly respectable conferences.

I really didn't want to get thinking that Fisher has a chance because I didn't want the let down but man looking at the numbers Fishers SOS (9th at .575) trumps Wabash (111th at .503), Illinois Wesleyan (123rd at .499) and Thomas Moore (149th at 0.488) by a pretty large margin despite those teams being 9-1 vs SJF's 8-2...

I feel like Lloyd Christmas...

SOS might come into play when splitting the hairs between the solid 8-2 teams this year (SJF, STU, Wheaton, Heidelberg, and UW-Oshkosh to name a few).  But there are too many 9-1s to event get to that point this season.

I hope I'm wrong we'll see soon obviously.

I don't even care about the NCAA bid honestly. I am so proud of the way Fisher finished this season, despite the injuries and drama. What a great performance today. I hope everyone from AU enjoyed the courage bowl experience, but I am a happy alumni today.
GO FISHER!!!

BomberJeff

The other reason SJF may have a chance is because of their record against regionally ranked opponents, which is on the criteria list (though not as high as SOS).  Somebody is going to have to check my math, but I have SJF as 1-1 against RRO's (win against W&J, loss against Ithaca) while Illinois Wesleyan is 2-0 and Wabash I have as 0-1.  IF Alfred were to stay in the East rankings, that'd move SJF up to 2-1, but I don't think that's likely given the size of Alfred's defeat today.

I do think its IWU and Wabash over SJF in the end, but its so close that if it went the other way, I wouldn't be shocked.  It will be 2 of those 3 though, I don't see Thomas More coming into it at all, especially since they have a common opponent disadvantage against Fisher (Washington & Jefferson).

Mr. Ypsi

IWU will in all probability be 1-1 against RROs (beating Wheaton but losing to NCC).  They have been 2-1 (win over Hope), but Hope's loss today will almost certainly drop them out.

I'm always happy when SJF wins -- but really?????????  You don't care about NCAAs?

I don't agree with that position - play to win, play to be the best.  Pride and lofty expectations matter IMO.

I didn't realize that being in the Courage Bowl meant that Alfred had to play like UofR!  Shades of Salisbury '11 at the end of the first half.  I guess that's payback for Ruffin's fake FG at the end of the half last year.

Now we get to find out if my hypothesis from earlier this week comes to pass.  At the very least Fisher has a 1 in 4 chance of getting that last selection (and likely 1 in 3 since the W&J result should put the Cards in front of Thomas More).
Check out the official card game of the AU Pep Band - Str8 Eight!

I am not saying I don't want Fisher to get the bid. But after the IC game, and with the injuries and team drama, I thought for sure Fisher would drop a game. I would love a bid, but I am happy/proud of the effort and reaction from this team down the stretch. NCAA or ECAC Fisher should be proud of this season.
GO FISHER!!!

Well, they did their playoff predictions on here and they have SJF getting the last spot over Wabash and going to Leb Valley in the first round...

So there's that...

And FA, I totally didn't see that post! My bad!!!

You know, I actually sat there earlier tonight and went 'you know, they could move 2 teams into the East and move out Gallaudet' back when I was more inclined to think SJF would end up out.  I didn't post it just because I didn't think Albion as an 8 would be the option (I was thinking someone as a 4-5).  Damn, I actually could have looked smart for once.  ;D

That said, woo boy, an interesting projection.  Really stunned losing today may cost IC and Lebanon Valley nothing.

It is a LONG wait to 6 PM now.

Yeah they pick the teams that go in and then make up the brackets, they don't choose teams based on what a bracket might look like...
