Anybody know the SJF travel plans to Texas for this weekend?  Flying to Austin or somewhere south of Belton?  Wondering if there could be problems getting into town if ice is an issue on Friday.

I like that discussion. I am glad the SJF is coming to UMHB.  It is good to have this inter-region games appearing in the Round of 8.

SJF is the best team for UMHB in the Quarterfinals.  They were clearly stronger than Hobart and now I think that Hobart got a considerable bit of love in the Top 25 by just "floating" at 6th and 7th in the Polls (with no more that 473 points which is almost a perfect "7th").

SJF has been in the playoffs for the last 4 seasons.  They are a quality program (AKA "usual suspect" as mentioned in the blog.)

As for the weather, if we Texans had standard issue thermal ("proven to  minus 40 degree windchill sit on your rear end in a frozen deer blind") underwear, then we might not consider 35 degrees above too cold.

SJF has not been in NCAA past 4 years. They have made it in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2011 and this year

They have played a post season game in 11 straight years I believe as here in the East we have ECAC Bowl games
My bad!  Thanks for the corrections on the ECAC games. Nevertheless, the post-season experience is more practice, another game, big-game experience, etc.

Pep would question the "big-game experience" of an ECAC Bowl Game. Not so much, really, but, agreed, having an extra game (particularly if it's a home game for the seniors) is a bonus and it likely helps in recruiting when coaches can say the team had post-season games for the past ten seasons. But to be honest, the real draw in recruiting is whether the said school has a decent pep band.   ;D

Random factoid of the night - Fisher scored in the first quarter against Hobart this past weekend, their first opening quarter points since week 6 against Salisbury.  Whattttttt?  I knew watching the games that the offense has been sluggish out of the gates...but that was 5 straight games without scoring a single point in the first quarter.  Crazy.  Let's hope the Hobart game kick starts a positive trend.

Upstate

yeah look at their quarter by quarter scoring break down...

1- 49
2- 152
3- 76
4- 110

Pretty ridiculous they're averaging 4pts in the first quarter all year and are in the Elite 8...
The views expressed in the above post do not represent the views of St. John Fisher College, their athletic department, their coaching staff or their players. I am an over zealous antagonist that does not have any current connection to the institution I attended.

Any fans accompanying the team on the flight? Pep recalls back when AU played a regular season at Husson, the team chartered a flight and folks were offered seats on the plane for a price. A good number of parents bought in. Pep passed on that opportunity. Playoff time would be a different story.

I legit had two separate dreams this week about the game on Saterday (which I know is sad).  Both times Fisher won and I was so happy.  Each time when I woke up and realized the game hadn't been played yet, I was met with bitter disappointment.  Especially the second time!

It would be fantastic to win this weekend.  That is all.

A true sign of "getting old" Booby!   ;D

Remember when we wouldn't consider discussing what we dreamed about?

Here's to SJF making dreams come true!
