They've not underestimated anyone. We all know SJF is for real. Much respect.
Watch out for the wreckingCRU defense!!

I legit had two separate dreams this week about the game on Saterday (which I know is sad).  Both times Fisher won and I was so happy.  Each time when I woke up and realized the game hadn't been played yet, I was met with bitter disappointment.  Especially the second time!

It would be fantastic to win this weekend.  That is all.

Nice to know I am not the only one! +k

I know this is a pipe dream but imagine if SJF won it all...

They would have to have beaten a top 10 team in each round of the playoffs (JCU, Bart, UMHB, UWW and UMU)...

The fact that they're facing their 3rd straight top ten team is kind if nuts in itself...

just to increase the hope... Have you ever looked at UMHBs road to Salem in 04? They beat #s 7, 3, 5, and 1 from the week 11 poll before losing to #2 Linfield in the Stagg
My wife and I are Alumni of both UMHB and HSU.  You think you are confused, my kids don't know which Purple and Gold team to pull for.

To add to Toby's post, every playoff game for The CRU in 2004 was on the road. UMHB lost to Linfield 28-21 in the Stagg and gave the Wildcats their toughest game of the year. I lived in McMinnville at the time and Linfield destroyed all comers that year. If my memory is correct, Cat QB Brett Elliot threw for 61 TDs in 13 games (the top four seeds drew a first round bye that year). The CRU gave Linfield a game and the outcome was in doubt until the final few minutes. 2004 was indeed UMHB's coming out party.

Not to mention that every game would be played away from Growney (like UMHB). That would be awesome.

All things being equal the UMHB faithful have been a great bunch.

I will second your comments about the Cru fans so far. Can't wait for tomorrow.

A friend of mine just texted me with a line for the game he found on the internet. Apparently Vegas puts a sread on D3 games starting in the Elite 8.

As of now the line is UMHB -12.5

When I called the Hardin-Simmons/UMHB playoff game in 2008, it was a pleasure interacting with all the UMHB faithful.  They love their football and their team, but they tend to know that there's a limit to the "in your face" fandom that falls inside good taste.  Wish I could attend this game -- but I hope to watch a great game on video this weekend.  Safe travels, all.

The interaction with the UMHB faithful has been quite tame, seriously the biggest argument/discussion point has been the weather...
