When will UC take the next step? I'm sick and tired watching UC beat ****ty teams, look great and then get into conference play and lay ****ing eggs.

It really is starting to look like Salisbury just owns Fisher, even if we may be the better team.

Fisher is up 42-0 on Utica and absolutely dominating them.  Meanwhile Salisbury is getting all it can handle against Hartwick, a team Fisher was up 40+ points on before calling off the dogs.

Final score:

Fisher 42
Utica 7

It looks like Salisbury has established control going into the 4th.  Meanwhile, Ithaca is going into overtime against Frostburg State.  Yikes.

You said it. That is what makes it so frustrating. I am just hoping IC can get them, so Fisher can win the AQ (if they win out).

Fisher won 42-7, so they should be hanging in the receiving votes section of the rankings next week.
GO FISHER!!!

Ithaca will be lucky to go 6-4. Don't count on it

Wow.   I'm not sure if anyone saw that 30+ whupping that Fisher put on Utica coming. But call me impressed!

Did not see that coming IC...

Yikes...

Maybe sometime this season the offense will learn that they're not supposed to let the other team score. Just an embarrassing two weeks

The Salisbury game is going down to the wire now.  What a crazy day in the E8.  I was pretty confident that Fisher would handle Utica with no problem...the rest of today's scores?  Not so much.

This just in from Utica.................Fisher is good........
What a great time seeing old friends!!!!!

BTW

Fisher is good

That SU loss is the one fluke SJFC loss .
Fisher came into Utica- Homecoming and all- Stands full- parking lots and tailgates full...and blasted UC
It wasnt even close.

When the air doesnt work the ground does...

I was (and my kids were) completely impressed with the team

And to Drs. Mahony, Flagler and Martin- indeed a pleasure as always!!!

Congrats to Fisher, very impressive win today. Can they keep it going and roll into the playoffs the way they did last year?

The best part of today's win for Fisher?

Holding Acevedo to 5 catches for 22 yards.

They took him out of the game by pressing him most of the game and kept him in check.

A few times they pressed him with Moore (a safety) and kept another safety over the top.

A great job in taking away one of the best WRs in the country!

The defense did an outstanding job in holding Utica to only 200 yards of total offense!

82 cardinals

Looking at Ithaca's remaining games they could go 3 and 5 this year

boobyhasgameyo

Do you mean in the E8?  Because they already have 4 wins.  Either way, I don't see that happening.  They will bounce back...just hopefully not against Fisher.

Speaking of the Cardinals - really lame now that we've reached the Alfred State portion of the schedule.  As a fan it is almost as if it's another bye week and we have to wait a couple of weeks before something meaningful again.  It sucks.

Perhaps Pep will print this out and post it on the bulletin board at the Orvis Activities Center. Pep is pretty sure the Pioneers, who by the way have won two consecutive games, will get a kick out of it.

Speaking of Cardinals, just returned from Yunevich Stadium where, once again, I heard the Fisher Cardinals JVs chanting "YARD SALE!" "YARD SALE!" "YARD SALE!".....for which I've yet to receive any explanation of what that means. First occasion was a 3rd and 10 or so for the Saxons. Another occasion, it was 3rd and inches at the goal line. Anyone care to explain?

Incidentally, AU sophomore receiver Josh Taylor from Poughkeepsie had a career effort, hauling in three or four long passes from frosh QB Dylan Gregoire from Marcellus, after Pep arrived at the game with the score tied 14-14 late in the 2nd quarter. Taylor's last grab, good for 20 yards and a Saxon first down in the final minutes, came against three defenders and earned a first down and allowed the Saxons to retain possession when clinging to a 26-20 lead. After that catch, the Fisher defense held AU to five yards on three plays and stopped the clock after each, preserving close to 2 minutes in which to operate. A deep Saxon punt was muffed around the Fisher 20 and recovered by a Saxon and carried on into the end zone. Of course, a muffed punt cannot be advanced so the Saxons took over there and ran out the clock. Final was AU 26, Fisher 20.

On Saxon Warriors!
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!
