Matt Naton has one more year left and he should be fine.  He has played well when called upon. I don't know if they have a young guy in the fold, if not really need to recruit a QB and LB's.

No, what's worse is obnoxious fans like you who act like their vision is the one that the program needs to stand for. Seriously, you posted telling people it would be wrong for being proud of their team, and that they shouldn't look at today as a way to send seniors who had great careers—which included four NCAA victories—out on a positive note. Who the **** tells other people what they're supposed to feel for their own team? Did you have the guts to tell any player or coach that they shouldn't be proud of their effort today or this season?

Bomber I can understand you're feeling a little sensitive.  Your team lost to an unorganized mess of a program in Cortland and was even shown on ESPN's leading program PTI.  In addition IC has added to the low point it already owned in repping the E8 in the opening round loss to a Liberty League team - only to be surpassed by the opening round loss to Curry a few seasons ago.

None the less - IC does not participate in the ECAC bowl games (why?)

ECACs, much like the NIT in Bball, or the Carquest bowl or the other bowl games that no one goes to serve a few functions:  at one level t level they serve as building blocks for aspiring programs or those on the rebound (UC, Buff)  -on the other, they are consolation prizes for programs that maybe have already arrived that fell short of the goal.

We've already covered who the top 2 are, who the top 5 are, then there's a handful of programs - North Central, Bethel, St Thomas, Wheaton, Wittenber and W&J that are close.  To break through, you have to have a clear focus for what the aim is -- do you want a program that's pretty good, or one that has a shot at joining the two team party??

I opt for the latter, as do many others.

As for "acting" like SJF is a national power.  Last 4 years, a recruiting class life-cycle, the program is 37-11, winning pct of .77, 2 NCAA appearances, 4-2 in NCAA.  Those 4 seasons, SJF has wins over: PAC Champs Thomas More and W&J, Undefeated League Champs: Liberty League Hobart, MAC Del Valley, CC Johns Hopkins, and OAC Programs John Carroll and Otterbein.

That is solid, and that is why a lot of us have high hopes for the program and are disappointed in not doing enough to get to the NCAA playoffs.

Don't put down Ithaca, although they lost a hearbreaker yesterday, the team put out 100% effort and comported themselves very well and the fans at the Boz had class after a tough road loss.  I think Fisher had a great run last year and you should be celebrating seniors that gave you the last 4 years....what a great record! Totally understand your disappointment this year, as Hobart was VERY disappointed after last year's loss to Fisher and would have loved to settle the score this year, but the classic matchup against  Ithaca  was a great regional contest within the NCAA playoff. Personally, I wish we would schedule Ithaca or Fisher more frequently. Those regional rivalries can be very rich and enduring, and you are in a great league for natural rivalries. I know Hobart loves and respects the rivalries in the Liberty League and I personally think being a top regional program, as Fisher is, is an admirable achievement.  If SJF , as an institution, thinks getting to the next level in D3 football is a worthy long term goal, (that is a whole 'nuther ballgame ..not sure the "admissions" tradeoffs are worth it), I wish you all the luck in achieving it , and winning the E8 next year is where it starts. Good luck.

It would be nice if Hobart and Fisher were regulars on the schedule much like Ithaca and Cortland.  I would have loved if they were the courage bowl participant regular after the U of R exited stage left.  Personally I feel like Hobart is more of a rival to Fisher than most any other school.  The Ithaca vs Fisher games have certainly produced some classic games, but there just feels like more emotion involved when it's Hobart and Fisher.

It could be a good thing for Hobart , as a strong regional rivalry makes sense in addition to LL regulars...as far as parity of talent, I think Hobart is losing some excellent talent after this year that will be almost impossible  to replace( Tyre Coleman and Ali Marpet are extraordinary players at D3 level) and undefeated regular seasons can't go on forever...already lowering expectations for a future Fisher game :)

I will be rooting for Hobart from afar as I visit my family for thanksgiving.  I have no idea how good or bad Johns Hopkins is this year.  All I know is a few years ago they had another high powered offense throughout the regular season, and Fisher shut that down.  It made me question if the CC maybe just doesn't play good defense.  Mount Union did the same thing to them the following year in the playoffs, and Wesley sort of did it to them the year after that (last year).

Hobart by 12.

All the support goes to MIT for the game, rooting for Wesley if they get past these  pesky engineers.
Comparison of schools Endowment: MIT , 12.4 Billion(need more stadium seating, fewer labs/ libraries), Wesley 6 million(nice stadium)
                                          SAT(75%): MIT, 1570(out of 1600) and Wesley 940
                                      Football     :   Both undefeated against D3 schools....should be close..Right?

You know, it kind of hit me, reading your opening paragraph just now, that you probably thought you'd get a rise out of me by bringing up what you called "low points."

But this weekend, I was framing some engagement photos that my fiancee and I took at Butterfield after the Salisbury game. And as I was doing that, I thought back to the preseason picnic, where Mike Welch announced our engagement to the coaching staff and welcomed the future Mrs. Bombers798891 to the Bomber football family, and how happy that made her. She talked about it for weeks. And I thought about how she'd feel if someone told her that she had to send a certain message to the team simply because they lost to Cortland. Because she would not have cared if the team went to an ECAC bowl game instead of the NCAAs. This season will always be special to her for reasons that didn't show up on that PTI clip of the Cortaca loss.

You're right. You and everyone else who feels disappointed by the ECAC game feel how you feel, and nothing should change that. In fact, I'd like to say that I'm sorry in recent weeks, I've said stuff about how any of you Fisher guys should feel about your program. That was totally wrong of me.

But I think that's why your post bothered me. To me, you weren't expressing your opinion on the season. You were telling other people how they should feel, and the message they needed to send to the program simply because the result wasn't what you wanted. And to me, that's a different story.
