You surely remember the Chugger Dome? Scene of many a Cortland epic. Now in the past. Don't know if the Cat rivals RDragons' gorgeous D3 facilities .........except am sure of the cozy homefield confines. Certainly should be a few more Linfield fans in attendance, yes?  That true all you left coast C-State grads? Talk about a road trip!!!

The CATDOME:  http://www.linfield.edu/sports/sports-venues/maxwell-field.html

Keep in mind that our student population is about 1/4 that of Cortland so the seating capacity is a bit smaller

I've heard your O-Line averages 375 across? I'm getting scared.

Just FYI to all the Linfield guys - there are only like 3 relatively active Cortland posters.  I don't want you all getting sad with the lack of banter.  But we here at the Empire 8 love and embrace you.

I've always been a fan of Linfield from afar. I think it's probably the year you finally face one of the other Purples in the final.

First we have to beat some Red Dragons this week....then perhaps the Purple Cru....and possibly the Purple Tommies and then probably the Purple Raiders......there are just so many good Purple Teams in D3.  I always chuckle a little bit when Mt. U and UWW are referred as THE Purple Powers....  Anybody want to give us Cat Fans a synopsis on Cortland St.?  They look to be a pass > run team with a big line and at east 3 good recievers.  Their defense looks pretty vulnerable to a good passing game.  What else can you guys tell us?

Well coached, tough team with really no stand out players to worry about.  Linfield should not have a problem with Cortland State.

Yeah and I always forget that the last Stagg not involving Mount or UWW had two other purples with you and MHB ;D That's kinda why I'm hoping for UWO or Wheaton from that side

I may have some more comments on Cortland later in the week but overall I feel like they are well coached like JU said but are kind of an up and down team. Having watched them a lot - When they played bad it was pretty bad but they also had some really impressive games, including the past weekend. I think their defense is the reason they probably have a small chance at victory against a great offense.

Cortland is dangerous on offense led by a very good QB with good WR's.  Defense tends to give up a big plays.  Games are usually very interesting and entertaining to watch until the very end.
