Speaking of Buffalo State's 7-6 win over the purple Warhawks...has anyone seen Bengalsrule around?

Pep's exited to be heading to Coyer Field Saterday with a few students armed with instruments and is hoping to see him.

On Saxon Warriors!

And I will be looking for the Purple clad man at Coyer field this S A T E R D A Y  also! Looking forward to seeing my favorite D3football poster (who reminds me of my favorite D3hoops poster - Magicman)at the game ;)!!

So, the Utica win got me thinking a little. What would be the best win by an E8 team? Let's say in the last 10 years, what is the best regular season and post season wins conference wide. I am sure everyone will point to the Buff State win over UWW as the best regular season win, so let's take that off the table now ( not to diminish the accomplishment, but rather to just accept that is probably the biggest win)

So then the question really is "what is the 2nd best win by an E8 team"  Since undoubtly the BENGALS win over UWW is the undisputed #1!!

Yes, I would agree that one is the best. I think the Fisher win over Rowan in 06 is up there along with the '08 IC win over Cortland for second. I have a hard time picking between the JCU, JHU, or Del Val wins for Fisher none of them compare to thrashing a traditional power (even if they were slightly down) to go to the final four.

Another interesting question is the best conference win in the E8 over the same timeframe. Hartwick over Fisher in 07, or Norwich over Fisher in 04, maybe?
GO FISHER!!!

Easy. Fisher's '06 team was the best E8 team ever. Springfield thrashed them

That 06 team was amazing....and the parents were more fun than their kids  ;D

I don't know if I agree. Had Fisher not beat that SC team in the playoffs they may have been the best E8 team ever. They had one of, if not the best quarterbacks in conference history (he's up there in the D3 rankings as well), and the only losses came to a really good IC team and a great Fisher team. I agree it was a great win, on the road, but the best ever?
GO FISHER!!!

Pep is thinking AU's 2005 win at Growney Stadium should be considered. Mind you, AU had Brenton "Da Beast" Brady at middle linebacker wreaking havoc for the Fisher O, but Fisher was averaging over 40 points per game. The Saxons held them to a single TD.

That was also the game when a little known and hard-to-see 5'2" freshman by the name of Julio Fuentes, all of about 150 lbs., ran the ball eight or ten consecutive times on draw plays to march AU down the field for a last minute Chris Reynolds field goal that extended the AU lead to 13-7. Add to that, AU's offense was being engineered by "Fisher Reject" Paul Keeley, who transferred to AU after a year in Pittsford.

Nevertheless, Fisher was in position to win, having moved the ball into the red zone for the final ticks but on a 4th down play, an unobstructed blitzing Brenton Brady ended the game with a forced fumble/sack of the Fisher QB and the AU fans, who comprised at least a third of the Growney crowd that day, began to celebrate. There was some thought the win would earn AU an at-large in the NCAAs. Apparently a bad out-of-region loss at W&L in the season opener could not be overlooked.

wesleydad

awful quiet here with the big game this weekend.  I like Fisher, but what do those of you in the know think.

XREDDRAGON77

As a homer.....Cortland! But after watching both teams play, the Cortland defense is better than last year and the offense is just as good. Wasn't overly impressed with Springfield of SJF last week, but that's why we play the game. Homecoming and hall of fame induction ceremony that evening. Should be a great environment.
Taste It!

fisheralum91

Its been overly quiet!
This one game could decide the conference!
Fisher wins this one!  ;D

AU has to have something better than that right?

The 2005 SJF team had 8 wins over teams that averaged 4 wins, yes they were blowing them out by a tune of 40-17 but they were really bad teams. I think UR was their best win that year and they were 6-4.

AU's 2010 win over Fisher was a lot more impressive than their 2005 one.

Fisher was ranked 17th in 2010 and AU just took it to them. The 2010 Fisher team was a hell of a lot better than the 2005 one.

Also pretty sure AU had a year where they won 2 playoff games too.

Not sure why the 2005 win is being mentioned.
